with the winter months here, i was wondering about getting some artificial light. IM not big on the tanning booth, but i was wondering if there is a artificial light that can give the same properties as the sun? as in the good rays.... - i dont even know what they are.

i think if you use EURO TAN i think thats what the place it called they do i nice spray on tan that looks natural or you can do the tanning booth that supposedly take out all of the bad UVs so it dosnt damage your skin
check them out if you have one around your area

Im still debating on trying some melanotanII just a maintanence dose to keep a little bit of color through the winter as i never care about being too dark.

well, having color would be nice. But a lot of us northerners dont get much sun these days. So what im talking about more is other benefits. I usually start to get depressed around february, from constant darkness.

some people say that's from the lack of vitamin D. The UV rays will cause your body to dump D when exposed and that causes a "better overall feeling of well being"

not sure about that, thought your body could produce all vitamins except C on it's own

what about those people that live in Alaska for all those days without sunlight?

Your body receives much higher doses of Vitamin D from sunlight than from supplementation. For instance, your body produces about 10,000 units of Vitamin D in response to about a half hour of sun. Most Vitamin D supplements should not be taken over a couple thousand units, at least that's about the best consensus you'll find in the literature.

normal, if you're having a little bit of trouble in the winter, they make special desk lamps that you can buy that may help with your moods. Do a google search for "seasonal affective disorder" and "light boxes" and that should get you going in the right direction. I've heard good things.
