Jack3d was my fav! When reading the ingredients now it was only the DMAA in jack3d that actually did something and was good.
The dosages of all the other things are far to low to have any effect.
I used to spend a lot of money on PWO because I was lazy and thought that there was some kind of special mix/formula in them. But it's really simple.
I also know some of you guys are like me, lazy as hell.
One day I just started reading about it, looked at what my favorite pwo contained etc. What I found out is that you usually need 2 or even 3 doses to get up to the effective dose of the citrulline malate, beta alanine etc. But the caffeine is always dosed pretty high.
As bodybuilders/gym enthusiasts we like to control every single thing in our diet/drugs etc. so we can adjust it accordingly to what our bodies want and need.
There are 2 things making a PWO great and that is the stimulant and the vasodilator.
Caffeine is cheap, readily available and the most used drug in the world!
Citrulline malate (2:1) legal, available everywhere and it's in every single good pwo out there.
Another important thing that I've noticed I'm lacking in my diet is SALT!
I've started salting my food heavily and I even put some salt in my pwo shake.
These 2 ingredients are the base for a good PWO and all you need if you're broke.
Now if you have some extra money you can add stuff. Both legal and illegal.
If you guys want just let me know and I'll make a list and stack on how to mix your own pwo and what each compound does.

200-400mg caffaine
5-8g citrulline malate
4-6g beta alanine
2g taurine
2g l-tyrosine
1g iodized salt
