Funny, I thought he kicks some ass...
First off, he (and Valentino) have enough confidence to do what they want and be #1 in their field. Granted, it's not //exactly// bodybuilding, but it is related.
Second, as bodybuilders (or weightlifters in general), we are all considered outcasts by many people. Most people -- including my whole family and a lot of my friends -- think weightlifting/bodybuilding is a complete waste of time, unhealthy, druggy, ugly, for weirdows, homos, porn-stars, et-al. I'm of the opinion that if we are considered such outcasts for doing what we love, we aught to have some respect for those at the extreme edge of our field. Even if you wouldn't want to look like them -- hell, I'd hate to look like Frank Zane (skinny, gaunt, porn-star look -- imo) but a ton of people here would love to look like that. Not a problem...
Third, I'd love to join the club of elite "extreme" bodybuilders like Valentino & Doring. And, I'm working towards that end. I'm a loong way from it, but am learning and improving in my own way.
My $.02...let the flames begin...heh
