Without an option to face a replacement opponent, Allen was pulled from the card but now he’ll get the chance to make the quick turnaround to fight on Saturday night instead.
As for Strickland, he just made his return to action in late October where he picked up a decisive win over Jack Marshman in his first fight back in over two years. Strickland was sidelined following a horrific motorcycle accident that could have ended his career but he eventually made his way back to the UFC.
Now Strickland will face off with Allen in a middleweight fight on Saturday night for the UFC Vegas 14 card that also needs a new main event. Islam Makhachev was forced out of the headliner with opponent Rafael dos Anjos still awaiting word on a replacement opponent.
