Last night a meeting of promoters, officials, and judges met to vote on important policy changes in bodybuilding, fitness, figure, and bikini. As a result of that meeting there will be a huge shake-up in the bodybuilding world. As of next year only the winners of pro shows will qualify to compete in the Olympia. That includes all divisions, and the only exceptions to this new rule are the Olympia and the Arnold Classic, in which the top three qualify. When I heard this, I figured that if the winner had already qualified in a previous contest the second place contestant must then qualify, right? Wrong. Only the winner qualifies, and if the winner already is, no one will be invited to the Olympia.

I dont like this at all. So next year's mr.o could only have 9-12 guys in the whole show. I mean you have the top 3 from this year's mr.o the top 3 in the arnold, then maybe like an extra 6-8 guys qualify from the small shows. and if you already won a show, the 2nd place guy doesnt get an mr.o qualify spot. Thats just crazy...

wait until they realize how much LESS money they make at show (especially the Olympia) because of this.

Half as many competing, half as many sitting in the crowd. Maybe not totally accurate, but you get the point.

yeah what's up with that? over half the crowd is family or friends of the competitors-the IFBB would be costing themselves a ton of money

???

Why would they do that when the NPC is adding men's figure, women's bikini, fitness, figure, physique, I mean shit how many more classes can the NPC come up with. Now when I consider paying big money to go to the "O" I'm only going to see 10 or 12 guys?!

That's just crazy because that's either going to get less guys competing through the year after they win one show or one guy could essentially win as many comps as he can that way he keeps the competition down at the O
