Saw it with a bunch of people - All the "non-boxing" people hated it. It was a
very tecnical fight and they dont understand that.
Maywether is a counter puncher but I think he should have
took it to Oscar a little more in the final rounds. I didn't think is was as close
as the score cards had it - but as Mayweather said after the fight - Oscar was
the promoter.
Mayweather won the fight but like you said he's a counter puncher and I think he was clearly afraid of Oscar after a couple of those exchanges. I was happy with the fight even though I wanted Oscar to shut him down, I don't think Oscar had the speed to do it.
I heard the same thing, but I wonder if he'll do the fight again for the fact that he made so much money off of it. I imagine he wouldn't make quite as much but I think it was one of the biggest boxing payouts for the fighters ever.
he claims he's retiring but he's only 30 years old and there's already talk of the next fight possibly in the fall or Spring of next year and another reality HBo series to go with it. They will bring in enough money that neither one of them will be able to say No. I predict that they fight again and Mayweather says he's retiring after that one but then DeLaHoya wins the second so it sets them up for the 3rd and Mayweather wins that and then retires permanently
all I know is that I'd buy the Pay-Per-View and watch them fight again as I'm sure all of the people that bought the last fight including all of the sponsors they had. If they can get them to fight again I bet Mayweather could get the $25 million and who knows how much they'd have to pay Oscar.
