Do any of you use Vertical Leg Press or fixed barbells?

I'm trying to talk my partner into buying a Vertical Leg Press and fixed barbells. On the leg press, I really like the side load feature as the top load version is too awkward for a lot of people esp. females. Yukon makes a angled vert. leg press, its side load and is fairly cheap ($600 range). But I really like the Nebula Vert Press but its top load but its built much more solid than the Yukon one (and more pricey) Are there any recommdations on this? I know they took a hit a long time ago with the safety of them, but the newer ones are now angled which are safer.

How about fixed barbells? Other than the advantage of not having to change plates, what else is there? Do you guys use them very often? I have a chance to pick up some really nice ones cheap on a gym auction. Thanks!

Are you talking about the ones where you lie on your back and push straight up? Arnold had videos of him doing these. We have one at my gym and ocassionally I will do them, it's definitely a change of pace

I'd get the Nebula if it were me. It seems like a much more stable piece of equipment, 600+ pounds to only 180?? I'd go with the one you know will hold up to some weight on it

Never used the vertical press...why do you want this compared to other presses? Just crious of the benefits
Like big n wv stated, nice change of pace. I like the idea of horizontal, incline and vertical leg press. Now add belt squat and hack and you have a good selection. Of course nothing tops squat

Oh of course, my only concern is I have limited space and funds, so the Yukon one is cheaper and takes up less space and its side plate loaded. I'm in a very small market and I doubt anyone other than me would use this with any weight at all.

Any comments on the fixed barbells? Are they of use? The set I want are Ivanko 20-130 lb in 10LB increments w/rack and is around $200.

That's a great price for the fixed barbells. Especially being Ivanko. I've only been to one gym that has them and it was nice not to have to load the weight, but rather just grab the barbell. I'm assuming you're talking about the ones used for curls?

Actually the bid is going to go up closer to closing of auction, but even at $300, still a buy. Yes they are all straight bar fixed for curls or whatever. I was just wondering what the general opinion was on them and whether they are worth the $$ spent.
