Okay, let's fantasize a lil
You're in the hottest band goin'~
Who are you.. the drummer, keyboard, lead guitar, bass or lead vocals?

Used to play a little guitar, 1968 Gibson melody maker. Bought a piano Baldwin and a trumpet for my daughter, now that schools cut back on music to save money. I may take piano lessons with her to get her more interested.

Did her school cut music?!
I've been hearing threats about schools having to do that..
To be honest, I think they should cut back on after school activities before they go slashing the arts.
I played clarinet from 5th grade ~ senior year in the orchestra.
It was such nice break during the day to go to band.
I can't imagine that not being offered to kids that really have the desire to play music & may not have the opportunity if their parents can't afford lessons.

One of my relatives gave me piano & violin lessons.
Two of my room mates also play piano & we just came across sheet music for four hands {like 'Heart & Soul'} & it's lots of fun to sit and goof around with another person when you're learning how to play the song..
I get shoved off the bench alot *lol*
Hope you decide to take those piano lessons with your daughter.
It will be a lil while before you both will be able to play a duet, but once you do..
..it will be a very special memory for her to look back on someday~

Y'know, during my high school years, money for schools got really tight and the board threatened to pull funding for our school band.....parents freaked out, and the more "well to do" of our upper eschelon fronted the cash

Couldn't imagine a football game without the band

That was really nice that people came through with the cash to save your music dept.
I suppose all schools have orchestra, marching & jazz bands..
Yep, the marching band really adds alot to football games.

Those long plastic horns add something to hockey games too

I play a bit o' the acoustic guitar... but I haven't made the time in years... something i want to do but never get around to anymore.

Actually... I dated a professional flautist for about 6 months here in Japan and she wasn't that great at the skin flute... even though that was the very first joke that all my male friends made when they found out her job. Great rack on her, though! *smile*

Yeah, they pretty much cut music. It's up to the parents to do it. It's sad that kids don't get the chance to do things I used when I was young. Everything now is so money driven. I'm not saying this for my kids, I can make do for them. But there are many parnets this day and age who can't.
