Dustin Poirier’s UFC 257 fight kit for knockout win over Conor McGregor earns over $26,000 for Good Fight Foundation

Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC Dustin Poirier fights for a lot of reasons and a primary goal in recent years has been his desire to give back through the charity he started alongside his wife.
Ahead of his fight at UFC 257, Poirier received a hefty $500,000 check from opponent Conor McGregor for the Good Fight Foundation, which has championed everything from building water wells in Uganda to buying school supplies for children in Louisiana.
Now following Poirier’s stunning second-round knockout to finish McGregor, the former interim champion has also tacked on another $26,200 for his fight kit sold for charity.
As it’s become tradition after his fights, Poirier put up his entire outfit worn to the cage at UFC 257 including his shorts, shirt, hat, gloves and hand wraps. After 49 bids, the winner paid $26,200 for the fight kit collection with that money now going back to the Good Fight Foundation.

Poirier also raised money through fundraising with designer Robert Graham, who made custom shirts for the UFC lightweight with a portion of proceeds from those sales also benefitting the charity.
Prior to his win over McGregor in late January, Poirier had announced plans to use money raised from his performance to help the Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadia, La. by providing transportation and tutoring for all six locations.
Thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the lives of students have been impacted in ways never expected, especially with many children being forced to attend classes over a computer from home.
That’s why Poirier and his Good Fight Foundation decided to step up to offer assistance to ensure the children were getting everything they needed as the school year progresses in 2021.
Poirier has now added even more to the Good Fight Foundation coffers thanks to the donation from McGregor as well as his fight kit auction.
