just jumping in on this thread

because i too have questions similar to amandas. but i have not done a show yet but my bucket list includes getting my wbff pro card, ironman kona, and olympics by time i am 35yrs old. i currently am 26. anyway.. i am curious on sponsorships, and supplements. so with that, i did read ya'll are saying network and put a portfolio together and get on stage for sponsors to take you serious.. sound fair enough. also about supplements, i am currently eating clean, drinking green tea and blk coffee, taking a multivitamin, whey protien, joint supplement and omega-3 supplement. but other than that nothing else.. as my training gets more intense i feel i need a pre workout supplement and maybe something else for the goals i am going for but i am so lost when it comes to all the brands and what to take out there. any advice will be great.. thank you!!:bench:

Amanda nice work :)

I have obtained several sponsorships from competing and then networking...Go to competitions, expo's, etc...like the Europa for example...

Get to know people, and you must do something that makes you stand out...Either be a top athlete, model, or something unique that lets you stand out..You will get more rejections then offers, and don't expect to make it big at first, start with small companies, improve and go from there... So far you look good, can clearly see you have been working hard, keep it up!!

Kylan, A great supplement to start with is an ECA stack, which is like an ephedra/ephdrine base combined with caffeine and aspirin...Most everyone here will tell you this is one of the best preworkouts that exist, it does work well.. I believe one of the sponsors here, Prescription Nutrition or Apollos carries it.

Yes apollo does carry it and PN has something a little more advanced called Metaburn. Wes gave you great info on starting small and working your way up. Take it from me a guy who works for a small supplement company

Great info Wes! And yes Prescription Nutrition is your best bet for metaburn!!

Thank you so much! All this information is a great help and it just makes me excited to work even harder. : ) I'll deffinantly be around on this page.

Welcome to the boards ladies, as it's been said it's extremely hard to get a sponsorship, but through hard work and networking it is achievable.

create a model mayhem profile. work with people in the industry. create you own website where you blog about something related to the industry. Network, network, network

This is going to sound mean, but honestly the figure and bikini girls are a dime a dozen. You have to separate yourself from them in some capacity. Some girls are photographers and photograph themselves and others. Others design bikini's like lexi kaufmann, some are personal trainers. Being in the military is great, use that to land you in a photo shoot with other fitness military girls.

There's so many avenues and ideas its endless. To be sponsored you have to really work hard because companies are falling back on the # of sponsored spots they offer. They want you to do something for them in return for the supplements they give you, the photos they use you in etc...so its really a what are you going to do for me type gig...networking is the single biggest thing you can do though

This post is right on the money. You need to market yourself. When someone can make money off you then you make money. It's how it works. Don't let failure dissuade you. Spit on failure and keep trying. Perseverance is what counts.

Hmm i am also sure you've seen how many ladies contend especially in Determine and Swimwear. There is no lack of ladies seeking to do modelling and such. All but maybe the top 2 Experts have regular tasks.

what?
