Ive always heard sugar is sugar and its no good if your dieting. So thats the way ive dieted for years. Just looking over the glycemic index of the carbs in berries and fruit even though most are obviously sugar the index is lower then any carbs i eat on a regular basis.
Strawberries, raspberries, black berries (fresh) 32
32 is way lower then oatmeal and rice. So does the sugar in fruit actually go against you like normal sugar or higher GI carbs? and i mean via spiking insulin etc etc.

if i take it in itll be early in the morn with my oats or RIGHT afterthe workout... im a sucker for unsweetened applesauce :-)

I read in an interview that fructose doesn't stimulate an insulin response like dextrose, sucrose, etc and that fruit was good to eat even on a diet for the fiber and many other nutrients. I am pretty sure I've read more than one nutritionist say they have their clients eat fruit, if I can find any of those interviews I'll link them for you.

We were just talking about this last night, because I put strawberries and blueberries and occasionally a banana in my post workout shake.

Here you go bro. I'll keep looking because I know I remember at least one more, but this one has some great info about this specific issue. Hope this helps.

I think it's a good thing. Helps to keep your energy up throughout the day and replenish liver glycogen better than other simple sugars. Really if it is fresh fruit we are talking 30g of carbs or less depending on the amount eaten. Plus it will help eating something sweet so you don't get burned out on your diet.

I prefer in diet to eat berries which are generally considered the best choice because it is higher in fiber (your body does not absorb the calories) and is a mine antioxidant..

^^ good point ive been on a red cherry kick lately. Lots of benefits from them and they help keep me from wanting sweets.

Man... Swole just made me have a craving for some bing cherries. Gonna have to call the woman and ask her to pick some up tonight when she hits the store.
