I have noticed when I work out biceps that i get a numbing sensation from under my armpit to the tip if my pinky finger and my finger and side of my hand go completely numb. I have gotten pretty used to it and just fiqured it was from the bigger pumps I'm getting but I was talking to someone about it the other day and they said they knew someone that had the same thing gong on and they had poor blood circulation and died later on that night from heart failure. Now I'm spooked. Anyone else had these symptoms?

lol.. poor blood circulation? sorry man, but im assuming your fairly young (20's???). This most likely has more to do with slight nerve damage.

I'm in my early 30's. But it's funny you mention nerve damage. I know when ever I get a cut anywhere on my body the nerves never grow back and I lose since of touch in that area, it stays numb forever. Might need to go get checked out? But I don't think they can really do anything for that.

Sounds like a nerve getting pinched. It's hard to know exactly where, so it's good to go to a doc to get it checked out.

now thats pretty strange

when i hit shoulders my hands get numb sometimes or if i play catch and try to hit in the 80's again then my whole hand goes numb. Mine is from scar tissue from surgery and just fucked up shoulders. Sometimes ill get tingly when working out etc. If its not normal for you then i would get it checked out. I just have to live with mine though lol.

My left thumb gets numb sometimes. It seems to only happen when I'm cold so I just figured it was poor circulation or something. It doesn't really bother me. Could something serious come of it if I don't get it checked out?

Well I made an appiontment to see the doc yesterday and went in this morning and told him about the numbness that I was getting in my arms and hands when I work out. He ask me to take my shirt off and then wanted to know how long I have been lifting and when has the numbness started. He's lifting my arms and poking around on me and then ask me how long have I been doing PED's? WHAT!? Now I can quickly tell where this is gonig. So here it comes, he's now lecturing me on the dangers of steriod use and tells me that my use may have something to do with the numbness I'm feeling and that I should quit lifting for about 6 weeks and see if numbness persist. What a fucking joke!!! I'm finding another doctor, what a dumbass!

Was this a GP or a sports medical doc? You probably are well aware, but the sport's med docs are the way to go. I am fortunate enough to see the medical director of my university who obviously has much experience with these sort of things. You should look for somebody similar--a sport med-doc with university or pro-level experience.

Good idea. This was just a GP doctor that I had seen several years ago for headaches, which he didn't do much about either. We have plenty of doctors in our city so I will see if I can find one in the sport med field.

I have this problem when I eat gluten. My immune system attacks my nerves when i eat gluten and make the outer 2 fingers and side of my hands go numb.. Not saying you have celiac disease it might be worth looking into.

I have the same thing bro i think it feels like something pinched under my right arm an it goes numb. Its most likely a pinched nerve i was scared for a while but its gotten better.
