Do you guys do weighted heavy dips for tris? I used to love them but havent done them in quite a while. I gotta buy a weight belt since my gym doesnt have one kinda sucks. I hit some dips last friday just to see how they felt, used to hurt my shoulder a little but they felt great but damn doing 40 to 50 reps with BW to really hit them hard is ridiculous so gonna grab a belt off apt probably this week. You guys like heavy dips for size on triceps or something different better? I already do close grips, front and reverse pressdowns, and sometimes switch up with something else besides closegrip to switch it up.

I love dips , I used to do a few reps with BW+185 , I always did chest dips though since I figure im working triceps in 3 movements that I do. inclines , front press , dips.

I Choose to hit my lower chest with them more than triceps.

But I love dips and I absolutely rate them better than benchpress for development.

what I got to work with at the house , buying more weight now. Dips are a staple of my workout :)

I put all my shit together with scraps from an old weight machine that messed up under a fallen shed during a heavy snow storm. Minus the angle iron and the wood , but those were just laying around outside used them before they rotted up.

Pad for hanging knee/leg raises , Im going to get a dip belt soon also.

Back in my younger days I could do reps with 4 plates hanging from me. Now I can't even use bodyweight. I'm working my way up using an assisting machine. Otherwise it wrecks my shoulders.

do you go down really low? If so try not going down past 90 degrees thats all thats really needed for tri's. If your doing them for chest its a little different. I used to be in pain doing them too but now i keep my arms straight with my elbows not flared at all and dont go too low and i feel pretty good on them.

I turn my hands facing outwards bringing my tri's in tight to my lats and go deep as I possibly can. With weight they are a kick ass mass builder.

My right shoulder hurts doing these. I did chest tonight and tried them. I got 4 sets of 15 pretty easy but there was a decent amount of discomfort.

I used to do these with 4 hanging plates. If my shoulder did not hurt so much I know I am strong enough to get this weight once again.

I remember you banging out a ton of reps with 4 plates. I couldn't come close now. I only do them for chest. I'm focusing on my chest 100% due to its obvious lack of development. I've taken 4 days off and will be easy on the shoulders until I do Chest on Sat and I will try these again.

I do dips at the tail end of working my triceps. That way i cant do more than say 8....
