I vary my hand position personally from about nipple wide to close enough that my thumbs touch in the middle, what is your guy's preference and why?

I like to put my hands on the bar, with thumbs running along the bar, and slide my hands in until my thumbtips touch. Any more than that, hurts my wrists. I get the best squeeze and pump at that distance.

You guys do it about exactly how i mostly do i always hear people saying not to get your hands too close together though but thats where i feel them the best in my tri's.

your thumbs touching is wayyy too narrow. how can you handle any weight like that. i grip it about in inch wider then the first knurls*, or about 12 inches apart.

what do you mean by knurl as in where the texture starts? see when i go that wide it feels like im working my chest and tri's not mainly my tri's.

A foot apart for me too. I do it where when I come straight down my elbows almost graze my sides. They actually do hit my ribs come to think about it. For me it is about keeping my elbows from flaring out. I notice I get a better pump in my tris like that. I love close grips.
