How did you break your plateau

I have been stuck at right at 17 on my arms for a long time. I have tried forced reps, drop sets, super sets, changing movements every week, and tons of other things. What got you past your sticking point. I have considered synthol just to stretch the muscle belly some, and have used igf in the past. Im thinking igf will be the ticket and may run it again soon. Suggestions?

thats hard to answer for me. I always trained arms real heavy, even cheat reps sometimes. I used to do barbell curls for only 3 reps, just to move heavy weight.

for my arm plateaus, I would use drop sets with great success. I know that free-weight is always "best", but I have found, that the preacher machine that allows you to rotate the grip all the way from bent to hammer is quite effective. I would do 2-3 working sets, and then the last set would be a drop set with very heavy weight, ending on like 30 pounds; the drop sets each consisted of 5-8 reps at each weight. After this my arms were EXPLODING to the point where even after doing extreme stretching they hung slightly bent at my sides and felt very solid and heavy. Definitely effective in my opinion...

I think IGF certainly helped my arm development, but in training, I've always lifted heavy. I stuck to barbell curls (mostly) and preacher curls doing one or the other, but I'd do something similar to Shap and have a couple of warmup sets, but then do a drop set going very heavy--sort of like going for your max but not. The last few sets/reps were something like:

100 x 5
105 x 4
110 x 3
115 x 2
120 x 1

The key was to go heavier next time so the set would look like:

105 x 5
110 x 4
115 x 3
120 x 2
125 x 1

At any rate, any way you choose to train, you need to progress by adding either reps or weight. Find out what works for you.

i train calves and arms twice a week. one day heavy, low volume. the other day lighter with more volume.
my arms still suck, but with igf, they are growing slowly.

For arms too it helps to do everything raw...no straps or hooks. Pull-ups, Deadlifts, Hanging Leg Raises, DB Rows, etc...

I am trying to two a weeks now and always use dumbells or barbells so nothing machine.

some will argue this, but i got mine to a pumped, and fat, 18" last winter at 206lbs@5'5"....... after leaning out over the summer down to 175 or so they're barely 17"........for me though the growth started fast when i started injecting my aas into my bis and tris at least once a week in the rotation and sometimes every 5 days......synthol into the arms will blow them up and takes a long time to break down the oil so i figured "why not just inject other gear there instead".....there's really no load phase just a weekly phase and as long as you're constantly putting 2-3ml of oil or suspension it will grow (for me anyway this worked).....the difference is that aas oil break down faster than synthol and need more frequent applications
