How do you stay motivated when that feeling is gone?

Hi guys,
Just struggling a bit for motivation, after so many years of hardly any results from working out and then getting such great results in a very short period of time with a little artificial help.
Now that feeling is gone and you go back to "normal", how the hell do you stay motivated when you know you are just maintaining until the next cycle?
I feel like I'm just wasting my time when I walk through the doors of the gym.

well, a good lifting partner will help, but mostly i just think about getting a good pump and pushing myself to make gains even without the sauce.

I run into the same problem man. I need to see a constant change in my physique or I lose motivation. I'm either bulking or cutting the next day. You just need to find what motivates you. I just fill my head with info from reading the boards, listening to radio shows, or researching shit. Just learning and applying new shit keeps me motivated. Try watching bodybuilding videos or clips. That gets me going.

women, the way weight feels when you move it. the hope for something better. and the drugs, love feeling like im 18 again.

I take time off. I was almost at my ideal build lacking about 7lbs of muscle. I have pretty much taken the last 2months off. Now i'm ready to hit it again

Cheers lads, I suppose this must hit everyone after their first cycle especially. I think I need to set some firm goals, maybe a week or so off to rest up and a big bag of doritos (cheers h8tr3d)
Another thing is I really need to find a training partner, I have a personal trainer who I train with once a week which is great but I need to sort out something more regular.
Thanks again

Yeah, I thinnk we all get that way after a good run.......
Personaly I went from working out 5 on and 2 off
To working out 1 on and 3 off.....if I get lucky.....LOL

I do have a twelve year old son that loves to go to the gym
So it's not as hard as it could be......He pushes pretty hard to go...

I've been having that problem myself. I used to get to the point where I look good in the mirror and I'm happy enough with what the scale says and I get lazy about it. So now I need to pick goals that are related to strength and/or endurance in order to really stay focused.

Find the thing that works best to motivate you, after years of hitting the gym we all find the magic motivator.

Try going on a creatine cycle. I am having the same thing, nearing the end of my cycle. I started taking letro, and dropped the dbol/drol, and the letro is shedding water weight like crazy. I feel like a have the opposite of anorexia. I guess I'm "bigorexic". My plan is to begin a creatine cycle as soon as Im off the juice, until its time again.

There is lots of differents ways to keep gains while you are off cleaning your system to keep your gains and strengh so you will not even feel you are off.

It happened to e long time a go untill i learn the latest techiniques.

A week off is good and I also force myself to the gym when I feel that way - it
passes. In workouts, like life you have ups and downs. I just keep going through
the motions during the downs and the ups are better. Either your in it for the long
haul or your not. (just my opinion.)

try finding other active things to do. Instead of taking "time off", I may drop weights to once a week and do other active but fun things. I love going to the lake and water skiing, or biking if I get a chance. Its fun, different and still very much a workout. You'll feel it the next day.

Yeah I have started bicycling. We have some nice river trails around here and it is very relaxing. I try to keep it pretty easy though, not trying to do heavy cardio and lose muscle.

I've gone with the week off option, was feeling really guilty for a few days but now I've decided on one week off I feel better about it all. I'm going to have a good chill out day tomorrow, off the beach all going well, maybe a bit of volleyball down there if I can.
Back into it on Sunday, starting to look forward to it now, planning my next cycle. Told myself I have to drop 5% bf before I can go back on. So I think I might have to blow the cobbwebs off the old pushy and get out there.
Time to set some new goals for the next cycle, one of them is to wear a singlet in the gym, never done it, strange goal I know, but with my frame I've never had the nads too.
I've been feeling like a bit of a whinging little bitch recently, so harden up time is here.
Cheers

I know what you mean. Life seems so boring when you stop taking those weekly power injections. It's like what's the point.

Just curious, whats a singlet?????

Trying to think what you guys would call it.
Think of what runners wear as a shirt, beach volleyballers and probably what you wear to the gym.
Shorts and singlet for most of you guys
Long shorts and t-shirt for me.
