How the body works?

Does anyone know of a link, or book that I could read about systemic functions of the human body? I know a little bit and recognize things, leydig, LH, FSH, etc, blah, blah, blah. But I would like to know more about it. Endocrine system function, insulin, protein synthesis and food metabolism would be of particular interest.
