Ya the title sounds like total bullshit i know, but I thought i'd tell you guys about a training strategy i used before to pack on 10lbs of muscle in a week! I first read about this in Muscular Development and I know Scott Abbell has used a similar strategy so has Dan Duchaine. The whole idea behind this program is to put your body in such a catabolic state by over training, under eating and not getting enough sleep, that when you put everything in place your body will OVER compensate by packing on some new muscle mass. So this Is what you can do, for 1 week don't pay attention to what you eat, and purposely don't eat enough protein, do an hour of cardio a day along with lifting 6 days a week for no less than 2 hours. Yep sounds crazy, cause it is, lol. I'm not saying this is safe, it truly is a hardcore way of packing on muscle, but it DEFINITELY works. So once you complete this week you should feel drained and like total crap. Now here comes the fun part for the next week, make sure EVERYTHING is perfect, get all your vitamins and meals, enough protein/sleep etc. Keep your workouts brief but intense TOPS 1 hour. By the end of the week you'll be shocked out how much progress u made in just 1 week. The theory behind this is that your body will want to overcompensate for the torture that it endured the week before, so cortisol levels bottom out and testosterone rises. Now 10lbs is not typical but for an advanced bodybuilder and progress is still that, PROGRESS. Give this a shot if your up for it.
