Are there any long term effects like kidney or liver damage for daily use of
say 400mg of ibuprofen ? Reason I ask if I take 400 at bedtime I don't wake up so achey but have I little kidney issue from a past heart issue 10 yr ago.. Thanks for the input.

yes daily use is very bad for you, atleast thats what my doctor told me when i told him i was taking 800mg 2-3 times daily, i know u are just taking 400mg daily but i do think daily use is bad even at that dose, and i also do know or read a member here say its even illegal over in europe in some places its controlled, not sure why but thought i would toss that out there

Many people take a daily NSAID and have for prolonged periods of time. If you can get relief from different drugs alternate them about every three weeks. Go one month with ibuprofen, one with tylenol, one w naproxen etc... They can cause some mild side effects with the kidneys, some stomach and GI side effects etc....but look at it this way. Tons of people are on daily or even every 6 hr narcotics like percocet and others that have NSAIDS mixed with the narc or daily celebrex etc.

So if you really are getting good relief from a daily OTC nsaid its prob worth risking the mild side effects. Now if u have a real problem like blood in the urine or develop a stomach ulcer it is time to stop.

Oh man I got sick as hell on Costco generic Ibuprofen. Kidney pain and stomach ulcers got worse. Funny because when I've ran orals I've never had any negative sides, go figure.

I think a lot of people underesteimate good old Aspirin ! good post jpotch!

Damn I been taking 800mg Ibu every 4 hours everyday for my shoulder

lol, I been there to bro before i was able to get my neck injections for the pain, I was eating Ibuprofen like candy and then Aleve when the Ibuprofen stopped working, lol,

Im thinking about getting a cortisone shot and see if it helps. I don't know if my pain is from re injury or just scar tissue pressing on a nerve

If its localized pain its prob a shldr injury. If the pain travels down your arm its related to the axillary nerve.
