Can anyone tell me why I can take 20ius of humalin R post workout with 100g carbs and 100g whey and not feel hypo? I have had no problems with this dose and it is my first go around with slin. Am I insuline insensitive? If so, is that good or bad? What does that say about my chemical make-up?

I have read that 10g carbs per iu isn't necessary, it is just a starting point that most have found to be safe (if there is such a thing). I have also read that some have taken as little as 5g per iu (which is where you would be at your dosage) and be okay. You're a big dude on top of that, so who knows what your tolerance level is. Since I'm not a doctor, I can't give you definitive answers, but maybe this will help a little.

Is this your first shot ever?... If not, who much and how long have you been using slin for this "cycle?..."

When was the last time you had eaten before the workout. How much of what?...

When did you eat a 2nd time afterwards.

Any chance your slin got hot and went bad?...

Hum R or humalog?...

Im using Humilin R frsh from the Pharmacy. Ive beeen using it for 2-3 weeks now. I stared at 2ius and worked upto 20ius postworkout. The only thing I eat 2 hrs before shot is maybe a liitle whey and a small amount of carbs. 30 minutes before I finishe training I hit the slin IM, then down 70g of simple carbs. imediately after training I down 100g whey and 30g or simple carbs. about 1 hr later 100g whey and 1-2 cups white rice. I held back on eating one night to see if I could feel the slin. I got a little sweaty and woozy then slammed the carbs, so I know I can go hypo. My wife uses the same vial and get woozy and sweaty on 5ius. I backed down to 4 ius and she fine. (She is reporting great pumps and some weight gain now.)
So what the hell do you think? Im just the type that always wants to know. My reaction or lack of reaction means something, Im sure. I just have no idea what.

You've been on slin for 23 weeks straight??? No Break?? You really shouldn't do that.... or there is a possibility that you could become dibetic.....

Also, the slin should be kept in the refridgerator.... You probably are... but just in case...

There is a small possibility that your insulin levels are naturally low to begin with..... but I'm no doc... You should maybe get that checked by a doc, when you are not on slin.
 
Read in USA TODAY (this mornings copy) that heavy coffee drinkers are 50 % less likely to develop diabetes. Speculation is that coffee contains a fair amount of magnesium, and Mg causes insulin sensitivity. So sweat if you are in fact becoming insulin desensitized you may look at supplementing Mg or even drinking coffee( some expresso before workout sounds good.)
I do not have any knowledge or advice or experience with slin-I am just relaying some info that could help. Might want to ask some experienced bros about Magnesium for insulin resistance.

Anyway. Like said above, some people are just less sensitive to it. and I have heard of people going down to 5grams per IU. I have been down about that low.... but I definitely get a little bit of hypo side effects.
 
Hmmmm Im no sure what to think of it. Its alarming when people say damn bro thats alot of slin..... Im new to slin so I can only go by experienced others.
Well I WAS new to slin, I guess I do have a thing or two to say about it now...

20 IU's is pretty high.... But if you can handle it then it is OK.

A lot of people find that they will not get much better results at a much higher dosage.... There is usually a top dosage where the effects level off and don't get any better..... Unfortunately you just have to test it to find out.

BE SAFE BRO! IM is tricky with slin.... I use SubQ just because it is a little slower release and leaves more room for error.
 
Hmm....20iu's is quite a bit of slin. I know at 12iu's and at about 7-8g of carbs per iu I went moderately hypo. I was using Humulog. Maybe I'm sensitive to Slin though. :confused:
 
I taken 10 iu's 2 times per day no sides other than a bit shaky and tired at times if not enough carbs are taken.

I usually take mid cycle when my bodyweight is plateaued and can add 10 to 20lbs in about 6 weeks.
 
well Ive gort the rest of this week the Im off the slin for awhile. When I do it again I'll keep it around 15ius. I just wish I knew why 20ius doesnt effect me negatively. Ive actually read where pros use upto 50ius/ day.... anecdotal info sometimes can be confusing.... but its how us guinea pigs learn.

maybe there's nothing wrong with what you are doing.... maybe you are getting enough carbs to keep you from going hypo.

one thing you didn't mention was weight gain. Did you gain any weight during this insulin supplementation period?
 
Sweat, it doesn't sound like you are too far off. You're totaling maybe aroun 150g carbs in the 1st 2 hrs after your shot. What do you eat after the white rice?...

Also, if you're hitting the slin at the end of the day, your sensitivity will be less. If you're bulking, your liver will be loaded with glycogen, so going hypo will be difficult and 200g protein will make gluconeogenesis an easy possibility, as there will be lots of Aminos around.

I can see how you're not going hypo during the 1st couple hours after your shot.. Since y ou're going IM, its likely out of your system after that and you're home free...

The last meal of the nice is the rice with chicken or just a protien drink...

So I guess everything Ive been doing is ok? I starte dlosing some wate when I came off the Cyp, but then starte dthe slin with just 1000g EQ and have gain a few pounds but muscle are very full all the time.
