Lat help!

I know that the Lats are possibly the hardest muscle to get the mind muscle connection. No matter what I do I can't get them to grow. I use straps to take the biceps out of the equation. Don't flail around like an idiot and I do use good form. It doesn't seem to matter what exercise I do I can't get these guys to do anything and the worst part is that my right side is bigger than my left. That however would make since I am right side dominant. Any thoughts would be a great help. I would use igf for the growth but that is not what I am asking. I am talking about feeling them to know I am doing the exercises right to get the growth
 
I have to fire mine up first with several sets of pull downs. I start off light and focus on that contraction and it takes a few sets but I get them pretty exhausted just with light weight. After about 4-5 warm up sets on the pull downs I'll continue with my work set or go to my first exercise. Your lats will fire up a lot easier through your work out.
 
Yeah warm up the lats with some pulldowns, them head over to chin up bar.. Those assisted chin machines are great if you are struggling with reps. Do one arm chins, bent over db rows .seated cable rows , wide and close and watchem develope as your genetics will allow.
 
One thing that has really helped me out with mine is doing a reverse grip on lat pulldowns and use a lighter weight and just do them really slowly and controlled to really target the lats.
 
well today i did back and found out for me that straight arm pull downs really slowwwww i feel it great as well as reverse grip pulldowns. just gotta go slow

Yeah do slow sets, even light and they will fire right up. Then it will be so much easier to squeeze them when you do your worksets.
