I don't ever remember agreeing with anything former President Jimmy Carter ever said. But when it comes to the war on drugs....He is spot on.

I say legalize them all and tax them. It'll free up prisons (saving tax payers money), it'll cut down on the crime and it'll help the economy out. You won't have all these self made millionaires that pay for everything in cash, but at least people will be alive and the economy will be saved

Either way we're stuck paying for something we don't agree with, this at least would hopefully create a more civilized world. If people want to overdose on legal drugs, fine, they're already doing it on pain killers....

The bottom line is Prohibition doesnt work, it never has and never will. You cannot legislate good behavior.

The govt has spent hundreds of billions of dollars fighting the war on drugs and its worse off then ever. The only real result of the war on drugs is the loss of civil liberties of every citizen.

You can't sum it up better than that! The war on drugs is nothing but the Govt taking away our civil liberties in order to like their own pockets and they are too stupid and stuck in their ways to make changes that would benefit everyone.
You can smoke cigarettes until your lungs rot out and drink until you shit out your liver, but you can't smoke pot and giggle the night away?! If people want to kill themselves with drugs then let them... It's their right and their life!
