yesterday i bombed my quads... Did 5 sets of leg extensions with 30+ reps. Then i started my normal routine of deads but with reps in the mid teens... went balls out. Leg press after that.

My quads feel nice and sore today... both inner and outer.. awesome feeling.

i really like this leg extension thing first.... Yesterday was the first time i ever tried it.

Jon does this also... I'm sure he'll chime in with some commentary here.

I usually start with leg press or squats first. I like to get them out of the way early because they exhaust me the most. My favorite is start with the leg press... 25-30 reps with 1 plate/side on the press. Then do a set of 15-20 with 2 plates/side. Then 3 sets of 10-12 with 3 plates/side, another set of 2 plates and a final set of 20 or so with 1 plate/side (depending on how exhausted my legs are at that point). Then squats, then walking lunges, deads and all my ham/glute exercises. I haven't been focusing on quad-specific exercises as much lately because I really need to bring my hams up. I love being crippled in the days following a good leg workout!

ive been hitting leg ext first for months now. i think they work good for warming up and pre exhausting the quads. i hit calves, then quads, the hams. the order from weakest to strongest attributes.

I'll use extensions to warm up the knees n quads before heavy squats or if i do extensions as a pre exhaust iw ont go as heavy on squats but i'll do some 20 rep sets with 225 or something like that either way extensions are a GREAT way to fatigue the quads.....
