Well I mean she says she is finally ready. She is changing to a less stressful job and is at 120 right now but is not in good shape. I have come up with a 20-25 minute circuit for the whole body in two days. The plan is monday and tuesday do the circuit and then again thursday and Friday. We are at church Wednesday and Sunday as well as gone alot on Saturday. I am going to start her in easy and just do the workout with her the first couple times and see how it goes. In her defense she has had a really hard job and allowed me to finally finish my degree so now she gets to take a much easier job and I am going to do my best to help her get in shape again.

JT, maybe I should help your wife train???? LOL. Although, if I told my wife my workout partner was a women, my life at the gym would be OVER. It helps to have a wife that understands training. My wife isnt into it, and she, and her whole family for that matter thinks I am a wacko. I mean, so what.... what if I want to look like a gorilla without the hair!!! Is that so bad??? LOL. Best of luck getting her going.

Big JC

sounds good bro it sounds like you two have your shit in line and if you are going to both be working out it makes the relationship a little easier. i think anyway.

hell yeah man that sounds awesome, my best friend and training partners fiance is getting into the training as well i got her on a diet and on a cardio lifting plan as well. shes loving it. You guys work out at home too right? that would be killer to be able to do that.

I would advise to start her SLOW. Too much and she will get burnt out. Through the years (it has been many, just ask Drew) one of the
most consistant things I have noticed is that the people who jump into it too quick are the ones who fade the fastest. If she starts getting
burnt out mabey switch two of the days to mabey a walk. Two days at the gym and two days walking. That sounds pretty easy. (just a
suggestion - you'll be able to tell the best) If the gym seems to be her thing she should get into it and start ramping it up. Most people
arnt as crazy as us who can hit the gym day after day and year after year. Now only if I could get my wife back to the gym - lol

That's awesome that you're helping your wife get into training. I'm sure the support from you will encourage her even more!!

If she's interested, I belong to some female-only forums that really helped me in the beginning. I could PM the links to you if I'm not allowed to post it up here. Having other women and her own message boards to belong to might help inspire her even more...

Also, Oxygen and M&F Hers are good places to start (stay away from Shape and FitnessRx!). While I don't personally care for them anymore (I'd rather read M&F, Flex or MuscleMag), they're women-focused fitness mags that are good for someone who's just getting into it!

Thanks guys especially steph. I will keep you updated. I am going to start her out really slow by the way. I also have to say she was very dedicated to karate when we were training together so she has potential. It always becomes a competition with her too which in training is good in my opinion. I got to kick her butt one night in karate but the whole room was cheering for her. She was 2nd in the state in sparring in colored belts. LOL

congrats bro, most people won't take the step...always one excuse after another-too old, not enough time, etc

to repeat what everyone else here says-don't let her get burnt out

Dont worry. Ive been working out for probably 12 years with a couple major injuries. I just want to help her realize her results too. She has an athletic background so Im thinking she will be okay with form. Im gonna do pics every 28 days so she can see what is happening and do like a video portfolio as well. May even do a journal in the women's forum for her. I was considering getting a trainer cert after I graduate in November. Any suggestions on credible sources for that?

My girl is my workout partner and is the best partner I ever had. She does everything I do and never questioned any of it. She competes in firgure also.

yeah me and my wife have none of the same intrests. she fakes like shes intrestd but you know when they are not. so i just quit talking about it. you bros are lucky.

since i have been off with this bibull i even offered to cook up all her meals along with mine to diet down and she aint havn nothing to do with it and i am getting tired of it. the only way to get this girl to cardio is hang a donut in front of the tread mill ( out of reach) and crank that bitch to 1.5mph. because anything over that she couldnt handle and would probally throw her right through the fucking wall then all i have is a stale donut and a hospital bill. so i am done fucking with it. i have tried subtle. seriously i have thoght about start glueing an eca stack to a condom and fucking dill disolved.

We made it through day one. She did wall squats for 30 seconds, 45, then a minute. Pushups 8x10x12. Military presses with 5lb dumbs 8x10x12. Tri extensions for 5lb dumbs 8x10x12. 50 crunches as well. I was just trying to ease her in and she says she is just somewhat sore. We are going to try to stay in the 12-15 rep range and eventually do two exercises per body part.

sounds like you are on track.. good luck and glad to see your wife is ready to step into it with you... another common interest to communicate about... that's awesome.. alot of people have to hide thier passions... and this will also help motivate her, as long as she doesn't take constructive criticism too strongly.... that can always make a man dig himself into a pit of shit, if she thinks you are being too tough.. LOL ...

then again, she WANTED to kick your ass in karate... so ... it should be fun for you two... tell her she gets our support!

I will let her know. Shes already talking about moving up weight. Ill have her on test and singing bass in six months. Just a joke.

I was kidding. I will say this. This is the ultimate sacrifice here. She said her head hurt and stomach hurt. I coud have got some by saying it would help her headache, but I got her to workout and didn't get any. The sacrifices we make.
