How much do people charge now per session to train? I am thinking of doing it on the side with people I know already, and not let the gym know

Not sure per session. My trainer for this last show was 300 for 5 days a week for the month. Lil over 10 a session. I've known many skeezy trainers that do almost 65 a session and 650 for 5 days a week which is just mind blowing that people pay that but it does happen

Guess I am a sleepy scum bag, I used to charge $65 when I was at Golds gym as a trainer......which was the average on the lower side....as a trainer you are your own walking business card so when guys see you training hard and looking good they want that as well so they will pay......guess I've graduated to sleepy trainer status.......

I was a fitness manager at LA Fitness years back and we, as a company charged $55 an hour then and tjat was for your average housewife and Joe shmo trainer.....
CT and others charge $100 plus an hour, guess its really how bad someone wants you as their trainer and your knowledge....set a price and they will pay, sorta build a house and they will come......

I would charge more for guys, but a couple of women what some sessions, and they don't bodybuild, they want to lose weight, so it's hard to charge more for that

It's your knowledge and experience on how to train and eat, not just building.....should, could be the same.....don't sell yourself short Brutha just because they're women....I am sure their bf or husbands would thank you and gladly pay....set yourself a part with the total package trainer....

Honestly it is a matter of preference and the more power to you if you can get people to pay more. i just say skeezy since i was boned by a personal trainer. national level BBer who when i saw him thought "wow he must know what hes doing" (being a kid thats the mentality i had) needless to say i was pre-diabetic after a month and out almost 600$ because i was a dumb kid. also the trainer was on shit loads of gear. and he was trying to instill the same diet and training regime on me that he was on. i think as long as you realize from a physiological standpoint that a natural chick or a natural dude has no where near the capabilities as if they were on juice you'll be fine!
Plus most of these people want to get fit not get huge so as long as they see some gain they will be happy!

what? i agree with minima about meeting people where they are at so they dont get overwhelmed and talking about what the realistic goals of the person are

Fat loss is likely going to 85% or more of your business unless you're a mass monster training other wannabe mass monsters who happen to have enough money after food and supplements.

This. In almost 20 years of training people off and on (mostly on) and running gyms and teams of trainers, I've never charged less than $45 a session, and usually closer to $65. Some of that was usually going to the gym, but $15 is crazy, IMO. You're likely to start hating showing up at that rate. By the time you drive to the gym and the time and money that costs, you won't be making minimum wage.

You'll be super pissed when they kick you out of the gym for training people there, too, all for almost no money. I've physically removed guys for doing it.

Most of the clients I train , I end up being their shrink too lmao , there is this lady she never even started training but still talks and says I'm alone need someone to talk to lol I'm sure many of u have faced the same lol

The guy I train with does 15 and makes a living off it. A good one. We have a solid gym here though where they don't take cuts from trainers like other gyms. Again though if you can make 65$ an hour then so be it.
