Pre-Workout drinks...

Has anyone ever experienced any kidney problems associated with these? A buddy of mine just got hospitalized with kidney problems and the doctor told him that it's because of the preworkout drinks he's been taking. Our gym sells the ABB Speed Stacks and he'd drink the whole thing instead of splitting it into 2. I don't know that I truly believe this or not, but thought I'd ask

I don't know bro. I was thinking the same thing. My kidney wasn't hurting tell I started to take hemo rage!!! But I could be wrong. I told the Dr. that and he said that some of the pre- workout drink can do that.

That's total fucking bullshit. Let me guess... an ER Dr. Those are like the quick lube guys that claim to be mechanics. My Dr is an extremely intelligent and enlightened physician that's also a bodybuilder. He does bloodwork on himself, me, a couple Pro bodybuilders and several lower level bodybuilders. Aside from the obvious (doing 4g of test a week, lasix, high dose orals for very long periods of time) nothing we do compares to drinking or smoking..... not even at relative extremes.

It might have been an ER doc, I'm not sure, but I'd assume it was since he was hospitalized for a day so they could run tests. I'll double check with him
