Q: Ever wondered why your triceps suck...

A: Because you most likely do to much cable work with them. If you want some mass, quit depending on the pressdowns, and other cable excerises and grab some free weight. Just because you can get a great burn from rope pressdowns doesnt mean that they are going to grow. Try to stick to more mass building excerises.

Examples:
close grip bench
dips(weighted or machined)
dumbell kickbacks
sckull crushers
dumbell over the head raises.

whats your fav tricep movement?

I did tri's today (prompting my straight bar pushdown thread)

Weighted Dips 4 sets
Close Grip Bench 4 sets
Skulls 4 sets
Straight bar pushdowns 3 sets

skullcrushers, close-grip, seated dips ( plates in lap), overhead 1 arm raises, kick backs

Reverse bench and tricep extensions with the palms facing me. Hard but very good.

My triceps are pretty well developed and I do everything on a cable or a machine. May start doing some close grip soon though.

I need some help. My triceps are strong, but not a lot of size. I need something that will cause the most growth in size.

Mine need some size too. Ive put more on them than my biceps but bigger would be better. I started doing pauses going up on close grips for a better pump. It gets quite painful.

i actually stopped doing the cables once i read this thread the first time, i did:
close grip bench x4
weighted dips x4
skull crushers x4
kick backs x4
but of course i did do rope pull downs x2 until failure.
thanks for the great post Nuk. my tri's hurt in places that havent hurt in a long time

straight bar heavy ass press downs, weighted dips or just wait till last when im exhausted, and close grip bench. Sometimes some reverse single and reg presses on pulleys just to get more blood in there.
