I recently heard on Youtube that BB'ers are advised to eat hi glycemic carbs after an intense weight session because of increased cortisol levels with the reasoning that this will make the natural insulin many more times anabolic.

Can someone explain the logic of this??

im pretty sure the logic behind this is correct, but IMO if you want to benefit from a high insulin spike, then use real insulin.

Agreed. I just understood it as high glycemic index carbs get glucose back into the muscle faster thus allowing the body to start rebuilding quicker

I have a ton of insulin that my sister got me but I don't feel ready to use it. I need more experience on it's full effects before I want to try it unless it is under guidance.

How does everyone feel about high glycemic carbs in your preworkout meal?

Ditto I need much more education on using insulin before I even attempt usage. Heres the youtube linky, its former Mr 1983 O Samir Bannout (I know I'm showing my age) that Drasin is IV ing. The comment is at the 5:30 mark...why is cortisol levels high after training?

Do you think you will eventually take the plunge with insulin? I just wanted to add this small but important tidbit ...I used insulin at 10i.u. and 10 grams of carbs per 1.i.u and I am and always was a naturally lean guy, so while I educated myself with insulin usage before i used it, i still took in a little more fats then I should have and low and behold I gained unwanted luggage around my waist, lol, so i thought because i was genetically lean that i could get away with a little extra fat consumption and it was a horrible idea!

So if you do wind up doing the insulin be sure to do it perfectly!!! I know you know and heard this before, but so did I,lol, I just thought I could get away with it, and i simply couldnt, the fat i gained wasnt much, but it happened fast and i have since gotten rid of it, but still insulin is NO joke!

Did you get a chance to read this article I posted? I like it but it didn't get much feedback.
