I think I have seen it more than once, and Im guilty of it myself...

but how many times have you seen a guy looked ripped as hell, full and dry (pretty dry anyway) at say, 3-4 weeks out...then come day of the show, and loses 10-15lbs and looks flat as hell...

Why do you think this happens ? I mean, you look in the mirror and see yourself...and you know your ripped and full...but then you start to second guess yourself...Maybe, just maybe you can get that extra 2% harder, and dryer...so you cut the carbs down more (or totally out) do extra cardio...then come contest time, your flat, and looking like your holding water (even though your so flat, that your muscles cant push to the skin to look nice and tight)...look like crap...then after the show you relize that you screwed up the whole prep, because you second guess yourself...??? Who has done that ???LOL !!!

my question is why do we second guess ourselfs ?

Example - first pic is of me at 3 weeks out (after carb up day) at 232lbs....second pic is of me at Nats at 222lbs (pretty full, probably not fully carbed up, but close)....which one do you think looks better...did I really get that much harder in 3 weeks of extra dieting and 10lbs lighter...???

I believe its all about timing... you have to learn your body and know when to carb load ,,, some people (hard gainers) can load up even on the day before a show..and other as myself need to load 3 days before and taper it down the right way,,,, it also has to do with waters level... and how long you should be on diuretics,, you can only trick the body for so long before it tries to over ride what you are trying to do... in my opinnion it has nothing to do with your fat % levels, you should be as lean as you can.

I hope that helped bro !

chris i always thought personaly that your body type could (shit load) as some call it all the way up to show day, i always thought you looked better fuller and better before you did the carb deplete and carb up, i think you just have the natural leaness for this, like the guys who eat a whole pizza the night before , but thats just my 2 cents brutha

yeah i wish I could shit load,, I would be in heaven before a show LOL !!

That's the only part of bodybuilding that I am going to have a hard part with.. I always second guess myself.. on everything.. let alone i'll be fifth and sixth guessing myself come time for day of show...

The other part that freaks me out is the diuretics.. something I have asked 100times but NO ONE has ever answered me ... can you be a successful professional bodybuilder WITHOUT the use of them??

Can it be done? They scare the Shit out of me, I am not fonna lie.. them and DNP .. scare the bejeezus out of me.

I mean, what about when a MMA artist sheds weight (water weight) with a trashbag suit in a sauna... to drop all the water weight.. to make weight.. for a fight.. can that same thing be done for bodybuilding.. and wouldn't that technically be SAFER??

I know some people dont use diuretics...I didnt use them for Nats...but alot of guys do...if you dont hold alot of water, I think you can get away with it...but some guys have to
