Has anyone tried to do squats without a mirror?
i was just thinking about this at the gym today and i dont think theres anyway i could do it, just strange.

Damn I've never thought of that. I don't think I could do it either. I need to see the bar and where everything is positioned.

Our dungeon of a gym in high school didnt have mirrors by the squat racks at first. I told the coach that we needed them to see our form and make sure the bar is right. He just thought I wanted to look at myself, which maybe I did, but that wasnt the only reason. About a week later we had new mirrors, and maybe just a coincedence, but most everyone's squat max went up and form got much better.

there use to be a squat rack that wasn't in front of the mirror and people use to avoid it like the plague. I like it just to make sure I have a cool face

your right... i dont like to do it but my gym only has 1 rack with a mirror so dont have a choice really..i just try to use the reflection from the glass some times..lol. true...form is a big deal in squats i think ..plus my back is fucked so form must be perfect..(sciatica)

I would like to think so, did it in high school. But it is something to try and see.

I squat in my garage when the weather is good, and I'm too poor to have a mirror...I actually avoid looking in the mirror when I squat at the gym, seems to throw me off now.

We have a platform with squat stilts that face a wall. I don't like squatting in front of a mirror because I won't keep my head up if I do. You'd be surprised how you get used to it because you start going a little deeper simply because you don't see how far down you are and freak out

Yeah Im running into that problem here at my shop gym now, I have no mirrors and priced getting 2 big ones the other day and the guy wanted like $275 to put them in and I said hellz no, lol.

the mirror at my gym in the squat rack is only hlaf way so once you squat you cant see yourself... its a pain in the ass cos i know when i load it heavy im not going down far enough but i cant actually see how far im going
