I just took a part time job as a personal trainer at a gym near my house. They took me on without a certification, but I figured I'd get one, ISSA, anyway. It's sweet, cuz my G.I. Bill is covering all the costs of the materials, including any CEU courses or additional certs I decide to take from ISSA. I'll let you guys know how long it takes me and anything else worth mentioning about the program. Hopefully it doesn't take too long with work and school in the way.

Hey buddy that is great let us know how it works out. You will be good people will want you by your looks:)

ISSA Certification

I wish I had saved some of my GI Bill for certification. Congrats bro, I love to hear about new PT!

Are you arranging your own programs or do they have programs they want you to
use?? and why ISSA ???

I get to arrange the programs I feel will be necessary for each of m clients. I chose ISSA based on the fact that my G.I. Bill will cover my certs and it seems to be accepted everywhere I checked so far. I'll be training in vegas when I get out of the military while I go to school. I called gyms nearby and they said they accept ISSA.

Thats great you have the freedom to choose the workouts. Just picking your brain
on the cert. Thanks

what gyms did you call? I know down here in Texas, its not accepted by:
24 hour fitness
golds gym
ballys
and every other chain Ive asked (privately owned gyms seem not to care).

The Cooper Institute is what everyone raves about here. Of course its only here in TX they do that (cooper must be marketing bullies). All gyms want you have to this and anything else they accept is just 2nd best.
And the ISSA is the most expensive one, but not good enough for them?

not surprised to see that most trainers in the gym dont know WTF they are doing, and now I know why.

I am ISSA certified as is my wife, and its a top tier certificate on east coast. I also know back when I was getting certified the credits were actualy transferable also meaning you could add the credits towards your college degree, not sure its that way now as i know alot of shit changed after the diploma mills were all popped, lmao. Anyways congrats bro and be proud its a nice course and great cert to hang in any office!
