Strength Athletes United for Newtown CT

Hey everyone, I am trying to gain support for a fundraiser I am part of which has to do with yesterday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.

This event particularly hit close to home as my 5 year old daughter and I live within minutes of this shooting...and her school was on lockdown. It is a scary thing to get a phone call and pick your child up with police in machine guns, helicopters, etc... But NOTHING compared to what these children and families have endured.

The fundraiser Nationally is known as "Operation FUZZY WUZZY II" and the goal is to get as many teddy bears donated as possible for the 600+ students at the School as well as for the families of the victims.

I have organized several gyms in the State of Connecticut as potential Drop-Off locations for the Teddy Bears. There is also a link to donate money to the United Way, since alot of people have been asking for ways they can help.

I have started a page known as STRENGTH ATHLETES UNITED for Newtown CT...and this is for anyone in any sport: Bodybuilding, Strongman, Powerlifting, Highland games, crossfit you name it...

This is the chance we have as Strength Athletes to help children:

Drop off's in State begin tommorrow and will go on for a week or two, right up until Christmas...

Major tragedy. I lost a son a while back, and the pain is indescribable and forever. We have reached a point where schools need metal detectors and other forms of security. I'll check the website and pray for the residents. The survivors are also victims, now scarred and traumatized for life.

The site is growing rapidly...we are doing very well...If you have not added or liked the page please do so and support us helping these children and the families.

A ton of top pro athletes are on board and using their Facebook Pages as platforms. We need to gain as many donations to the United Way and teddy bears as we can, thank you again everyone here

Also good news you guys, the "newtown bee" which is the official newspaper of Newtown CT where all this occurred is going to feature Strength Athletes United in their Newspaper this week..

Gym are set up and donations are rolling in..Things are going well

Update:

The collections are doing amazing, boxes are overflowing!!! Also, United Way funds are pouring in, and we are going to be featured in the Newtown newspaper..thanx Everyone
