In these few years of training, i can say that im not really getting stronger. I am looking a little bigger/better, but the strength is not really there. Its kinda strange, but i guess as long as im looking better it doesnt matter. I would like to rep 3 plate on the bench someday though:bench:

Im the same way, I have put on alot of size, but still cant throw the weight I used to when I was 200-220lbs years ago.

Same here. When I was 21 - 22 I was insanely strong. 405 for B.O. Rows, dips with 4 plates, pullups with 2 plates. I was able to squat 6 plates a side for 8. My form, however, is much better now, I don't wrap my knees on leg day, just neoprene sleeves, and I focus on the muscle and not the movement.

I don't care about strength anymore, when i was younger I did. I'm still way stronger than the average guy. I'd rather look like I can bench 500 rather than actually bench it.

I'm kinda old school I guess but I feel you need to be as strong as you look! That's what I train for. To look big and be strong. But I completely understand injuries and other limiting factors to not lifting super heavy. But no point having a muscle car with a 4 cylinder. I want the muscle and the power.

Amen!

I think as long as you can rep 225 on bench for a good amount people dont question your strength

That's how I think, too. I'm tired of being a 4 cylinder. I want to be an V8 at least (to use the analogy).

At least you got there once. I haven't even attempted it yet. Having my rotator cuff tear when I do scares me so I'm trying to build up to it very slowly, hehe, perhaps maybe a bit too slow. IF maybe I had a regular training partner, I would have got it by now.

Honestly I don't think its anything but an ego boost and a great chance for injury. I got up to 365 on the incline for 9 at 22, then tore my pec in a fight. Got back up there at 30 (just a few months ago) and found that I was using way more shoulder than pec. I'm down to using 225 and holding my shoulders back with a good arch in my back and I feel it 10 times more in my pecs. I even had the scar tissue incident at this weight and not at the 365lbs. A tear (like my pec tear) can permenantly damage your appearance and let's face it, if that wasn't our motivation we would be strongman types. My goal is to constantly improve my form and each time build back up in weight from there. That's where quality muscle comes from.

hatr3d and saud, you just need to do a big test tren and androl cycle, i garuntee you'll be breaking your PB's!! lol, i was just on test and tren when i was at my strongest, about 10lbs a week increases on bench its crazy for strength gains.
