hmmm...thats odd Ive always used getpinz and they never have asked for my SS#. I would personally not give out that type of info bro. If you need another option theres always the site sponsor www.sterilesyringes.com
Yeah man, protect your SSN like you would your life. A former co-worker of mine got his SSN stolen off of his driver license. If your SSN is on your license change it. Never keep your SSN card in your wallet, and if your wallet or SSN is ever stolen IMMEDIATELY call all three credit bureaus (Equifax,Transunion, and Experian), and tell them what happened. And never order anything off of internet websites that require SSNs. Alot of times fraudelent websites that ask for SSNs will sell shit at unrealistic prices to make themselves more appealing. My former co-workers credit score was pretty much shot after this. He is still seeing the aftereffects of this incident 2 yrs after it happened.
Yea I definatly see where you guys are comin from, I know how important my SS# is. The wierd thing is that when it asked for my number it popped up in a different window that was small. You guys think that might have something to do with the network I'm in. My school has a wireless network all around campus. I'm not sure if thats possible through the network or not.

As modizzle said above...people are making sites that look very similar to originals (bank and credit card websites, retail websites, etc.). When you order/login, all the info. goes to a theif instead of the company. Welcome to phishing.
the pop up box is another form, instead of creating an entire new site, they just get a pop up in place of the original login. You put your info. in there, and it goes to a thief. Easier than making an entirely new site.
yep drew nailed it...definitely sounds like a phishing scheme. It could possibly be the wireless network you are on. There are ways to intercept secure communications quite easily in fact all you need to do is be on the same network.

bro's it was gearbox and getpinz...same thing happened here.....it asked for mother's maiden name and telephone number.....are those two sites connected anyway? I know it was the real site tho...tilla and i had talked about this....something isn't right....if anyone makes an order anytime in the near future....let us know if thi happens......I put in a fony addy and SS# and mother's maiden name name and made the order with no problem....it accepted it...

it sounds like they are trying to incorporate some measures to keep them from getting hacked again but I still don't like the idea of SS# and Mother's Maiden Name, they should come up with another system for identifying yourself that can keep a third party from intercepting all of your personal info and royally fucking you over

bump for biga and his company, though i have to mention, gearbox is and has always been a good compnay and i know the owner from the past, stand up guy but if all those security measures are being take then i would question things also
