Plenty of good cops leave the career for other fields when they see what its really about. Making money, not stopping crime, politics rather than justice.

As with anything though, people just can't stereotype. There are cops out there that just don't give a fuck about people. They have a bad day and fuck everyone else. They are corrupt. My best bud of 20 years became a cop a few years back and hates it already. Hates the people he works with, the politics, everything. My father was a cop, but left the force for the exact same reason AZ1 mentioned. But in a way they are just puppets of the government and are forced to act that way. They have to follow procedure instead of using common sense and seperating the real criminals from the people doing 65 in a 55. That's where the bad rep comes in. In every occupation, race, sex, nationality, religion there is good and bad. You just can't combine them all into one. It would be like judging all obese people based on Iron Animal lol. Just because he sucks doesn't mean they all do...

Angel this topic is a no win situation. This how is breaks down. Cops (most) go into the force with good intentions to change the world. No one can dispute this. However, after they see its a losing battle and criminals they deal with and corruption within the force turns them bitter. That's is understandable. But I, AM a criminal and I am not the reason why they are so bitter. So if you cant distinguish the difference between a good tax paying citizen and criminal then DO BE A COP! I didn't start hating cops for no reason, please understand that. If a cop comes up to me and says Hey how's it going, then I am going to show him the same amount of respect he is showing me. Here is something to think about, How many here hate Fire Fighters or AMTS? They risk their lives just as much if not more as an average cop does. But they treat us all with respect. Do you think if I see a cop pull over another cop or a buddy of his and not give him a ticket, when he just fucked me over for the same reason not make me lose respect for them. But do not apologize for anything angelblue this why America is what it is because we are all entitled to think and say what we want. And I do respect powerlifter and proquo's opinions I just did not like the way they were talking to me.

I value all your opinions. I have learned something this semester at college, however, cops do have quotas.--but they don't label them for political reasons. They have to give out at least 2 tickets a day...some places I'm sure it is higher.

Why they don't give them to another cop?...that cop will make your life a living hell that's why. I have already been warned.

You are right...there are many crooked cops. A few cops told me, "there is only one difference between me and them. They got caught and I didn't". It's true. Criminals are many times no different than us.--The ones that think like this tend to be the ones that give you breaks and verbal warnings.

Someone asked me not too long ago why I didn't speed down the road. He said that I knew all the cops around here and should take advantage of that. But I believe if you enforce the law you better darn well obey it.

You are all right. Cops many times are not fair, but if I pull you over I'll be sure to give you a wink and send you on your way.

Fuck the police, they are corrupt throughout the world, they pay one criminal to inform on another criminal so it looks like they are doing their job by catching people who break the law. I am sure there are some honest cops out tere but very few and certainly none in high ranking positions.
