So you're trying to bulk up...if you're a hardgainer, does it matter so much if you use fast food to get those extra calories? Quiznos subs for example, for a regular size sandwich commonly have from 800-1000 calories. Not too bad for calories, but will it cause too much fat buildup in the long run?

I don't think so, I am the poster child for hard gainers...simple equation-eat what you can when you can

I stay away from sugar junk food-cake, ice cream, etc.

if I'm trying to gain I won't think twice about swinging into McDonalds or Subway-cheat calories are better than no calories

Drink milk a gallon a day :) im gonna restart my milk diet once I move. If your a hard gainer i think you should try it extra 2700 cal or so.

hell look at what Brock Lesnar or Michael Phelps eat-all things considered they are both fairly lean

I agree. I eat Chik Fil A, FireHouse, Thai, whatever..... and I still stay lean. As long as you have an idea of how much you can eat without fat accumulation (calories) I don't think it matters. Personally I go 2g of protein per pound of bodyweight.

the hard part for me is making the effort the put down that much food...I think Kai Greene said it best when he said that you have to "train your body to eat big, just like you have to train it to lift big"

never really heard anyone put it that way before but it makes sense

i agree with what was said earlier; fast food calories are better than NO calories, especially when bulking. I cant gain weight to save my life! Ive never ever been over 208.... but this winter, fat or not im going for it, lol

way I see it, being ectomorph borderline meso...it's easy to loose fat hard to gain muscle

if I can put on say 15lbs-10lbs of muscle and 5lbs of fat...I can loose the fat in a couple of weeks but the muscle will take me years to put on

I eat shit all day, and I stay lean year round. My cholesterol and triglycerides are my concerns. The problem is I tend to ignore these tests when I should be getting them regularly.

agreed agreed agreed

oh you just wait, it gets better with age lol.

Eating for Cals is not so bad, I remember when I was young (er) i was so ba at gaining it took me 5 years to go from 160 to 200 at the age of 18 I was 23 before i finally hit 200, now I'm happy at my age staying around 140 and its no problem but shocking your system or tricking it always worked for me. change thigns up often when you're trying to put it on....worked for me :D

the key is eating the same amount of food and calories a day, every day. Should know what you will be eating everyday. Have a diet plan written down and stay on it. If anything add a protein shake to everymeal you eat a day.

Im a super hardgainer and my best gains came on Mickey D's burgers and burger king.....To each his own. I simply found that McD's Kept me hungry. Keep in mind I ws a very hard gainer which meant I didnt gain fat either so I didnt gain fat Just muscle.

Although this isnt typical advice for maximal gains I had exhausted all approaches and got lucky with a diet that included very fatty foods.

Keep in mind that all my other food intake were MRP's and "healthy foods".I guess once you through the wrench in the engine calling the rest of the food you eat "healthy" is an oxymoron but hey it worked.
