Jack Hermansson, who lost a unanimous decision to Marvin Vettori in the middleweight headliner, along with surging light heavyweight contender Jamahal Hill are among five fighters who competed on Saturday night’s card at the UFC APEX that could be shelved for six months, according to medical suspensions released by the Nevada Athletic Commission (courtesy of official ABC records keeper Mixedmartialarts.com).
Hermansson suffered a left orbital fracture in the five-round classic and will have to be cleared by an ophthalmologist, while Hill—who picked up a second-round finish over Ovince Saint Preux—will have to have his left hand X-rayed, and be cleared by a doctor if positive. Otherwise, they will be suspended until June 2021.
Light heavyweight John Allan will have to have an MRI on his right knee, as well as an X-ray on his right ankle following his split-decision loss to Roman Dolidze. If positive, he will need clearance or he’ll be facing a lengthy absence.
Also facing six-month terms are Damon Jackson, who suffered a possible nasal bone fracture in his first-round knockout loss to Ilia Topuria, and Jake Collier, who will need a possible non-displaced fracture of left lateral orbital wall cleared by an ophthalmologist following his unanimous decision win over Gian Villante in the heavyweight opener.
