Oh boy, I'm aging myself with this....Wavy Gravy for whom the ice cream is named was a freak on Haight Sreet in SF. He started some famous communes and hung with the likes of the Grateful Dead and was quite a character. He is living in Sebastopol, CA. I saw him just a couple of weeks ago.

No. I met him a couple of times when I was hanging on Haight Street as a kid. Someone pointed him out to me when I was in Sebastopol a couple of weeks ago. He was a real icon. Still is there.
