I have been using DMSO for about 2 years mainly as a pain reliever and treatment of tendinitis. No side effects aside from mild skin irritation and a funky taste in my mouth both are normal and temporary. This is a good explanation. I recommend checking this stuff out. Also a video on YouTube from 60 Minutes I think from the 80's. They also use it to treat race horses with sprains. Its good stuff. May not be good for IGF though.

Good stuff. Every time I read something about the FDA it makes me loathe that organization even more. Bunch of shady MF ers. On topic anyone else use this stuff for assorted ailments?

Pins are a definite way to get the job done, but you have to admit it would be nice to have a topical application rather than jabbing yourself. Of course this is coming from a newbie who has never pinned anything before. I'll be doing it for the first time in a couple weeks I hope. Overall, DMSO is nice to have around. Its amazing how fast it temporarily relieves pain. we're talking 5 minutes. I also just got some chinese medicated rubs that seem to work well for pain. I just stared using them last night, if they continue to work well, I'll post on them in a couple days. I'm using them on my ankle that I had surgery on 8 weeks ago. when I get home after work, I am in AGONY! I put the new rubs on it last night, felt 100 times better and felt good this am. Ill do a new thread on it if it continues.

I use topical ointments for my left ankle. I had surgery to repair a torn peroneal tendon a few years ago and still have chronic pain. I've found that the skin in that area eventually becomes tolerant just like anything else.

i have a phobia of needles, before my friend did all my injections now she not with me so got to do it myself takes me like forever lol

Hey post those Chinese rubs if they work. I'm interested in hearing about/buying some of those

I dont have a phobia of needles at all they dont hurt and dont scare me, my biggest problem is aspirating one handed. As i just made a post about it.

Im with nair id like to read more about it too.

Not needing pins anymore would be cool, but it's not like I'm hitting myself with a milkshake straw or something, so it's not really a big deal.
