you can bake it bro, not sure the temp or exact procedure, but do a search here n the word "bake" lots of guys do it

I think filtering it would be more important then baking, since the filter stops bacteria also. But I always have done both and never got a infection from home-brew.

Filter first and bake afterwards. Bake at 225 degrees for 20 mins. Let cool completely and bake again at same time and temp. I have never had any problems with this procedure. I would under no circumstances bake above 250 deg. as you may degrade the gear a bit.

You will also gel the oil as well if you go above 225 degrees.
