golds gym, 20 bucks a month, unlimited tanning, day pass for buddies, 25% off there stupid clothing line. My only real complaints are that its trying to be more fitness friendly, got rid of the 140 lb dumbells and replaced with 85's. That and they have a siren rigged to go off if you drop a weight to loud and it makes noise.

LOL! Our Gold's doesn't have the siren... good thing, too! We've got a few guys who like to make a lot of noise. I think our dumbbells go up to 130 or 150.

A siren, for real??? I would have left the day that was installed. My Golds still has 150's for dumbbells.. They dont have enough flat benches and room to powerlift however but I can live with it.

I wish they had 100lbs plates but they wont buy them.

One of the best places I EVER worked out was Callahan Fitness Center on Ft Bragg. They had 100lbs plates and everything. Was oldschool and new school all at the same time.

I just heard about the gayest gym ever, this past weekend. I think it was called Planet Gym. Apparently, it's the opposite of a real gym. They have subliminal futuristic mind control messages playing, saying, "No judgement, no noise, no worries" and shit like that. They have the siren, so if you drop a weight, it goes off... they also have a button, and if they think you're getting "out of control" with your grunting, they will hit the siren on you. They have no benches, no barbells at all, the dumbbells only go up to 60lbs, they are against bodybuilding/power lifting and they only play top 40 music. The only positive thing I heard them say was that it's only $10 a month. When I asked 3 of the guys who were talking about it why they work out there, they said because it's $10 and gets the job done. Now, keep in mind, neither of the 3 are physical specimens of fitness in the very least. How can anyone open a gym with that mentality?!?

Yeah, Planet Fitness... they're quickly becoming recognized as a complete joke.

I work out at NYSC, a chain in the northeast. It's clean and has what I need, so I like it... I've tried a few other gyms around here and wasn't very pleased, so it's worth my $55/month.

You forgot to include 24-hr Fitness on the poll. That's where I go.

As i live in the UK, i couldnt really state where i train. But i train in a gym called Bannatynes, dont know if any of you will know what kind of gym that is?
