So next week I am starting 40 mgs oral winnie a day and am wondering what liver protectant to use. Liv 52 was what I was thinking but Im open to suggestions.

I'm thinking of using the same thing. I've heard nothing but good reviews on it. There's also milk thistle.

i kinda like the cycle support that bb.com offers. I guess it wouldnt hurt to do the combo.

24/7 milk thistle. Actually, in comparison to JUST product ability and test results by a lab, what are the costs and are they all OTC or do you need a source/script to get some of the liver protectants....

Has anyone run any of these liver protectants and had blood work done? I've heard a lot of different thoughts, but I haven't seen any proof that any one of these things is more effective than the others, or that any are effective at all for that matter. A lot of people (not necessarily on this board) have made claims that "XXX product has to work, because I did 8 weeks of dbol and felt fine!" Then again, I've also read a lot of reports of people using Anadrol for 12+ weeks while taking nothing for liver support and experiencing no problems. What I'm getting at is that a lot of people feel perfectly fine with or without liver protectants until one morning they wake up with jaundice. Just because you take something and feel fine doesn't mean that real damage isn't still being done. There is a lot of debate on whether steroids are really that hepatotoxic at all (the FDA has approved many of them, right?). I'm also not saying that liver protectants do not work; I'd just like to see proof if I were in a position of putting my health on the line. Test results, anyone?

I forgot about the Synthergine. I've heard of fantastic results with that. I may order that instead.

Most injectable steroids "bypass" the liver which means it doesn't have to be directly processed by it. That does NOT mean that it doesn't affect the liver. I have been on HRT for 9 1/2 years, and my blood tests have always shown a slight elevation in enzyme levels into the high range--not really high, just over the limit. I have used other steroids like anadrol, dbol, etc. that do directly affect the liver, and I have had the same results with my blood tests. I have never used any type of liver protectants at any time so if one of these protectants could help those values go down, I'm all for it. I don't really know why I never used them, but because some other health factors have come up in the last few months, I am going to try them to see if they help. I'll have blood tests coming up in a few months so I'll definitely be able to see whether or not they help.

Very good! It's nice that you have established a baseline for your values and that they have been consistent. The results will still be anecdotal, but that's the best we can hope for since the medical community doesn't care much about how humans respond supraphysiological dosages of hormones these days.

As far as injectables bypassing the liver, the only thing they really bypass is first-pass metabolism that occurs after oral consumption. They all end up at the liver sooner or later, but I don't know of any that cause damage except Winstrol. That is only because injectable Winstrol is a sterilized version of the same orally active 17-aa molecule. Injectable Primobolan may be very, very slightly liver toxic because it's 1-methylated, but I don't think it would make enough difference to put you outside of normal ranges on a test. 1-methylation is nowhere near as hard on the liver as 17-alpha-alkylation, and I doubt 17-aa is even that bad when used in reasonable dosages and durations.

I've also taken some orals without liver protectants before blood work (just tbol and var) and the doctor never made any mention of elevated liver enzyme values. The only problem was with my creatinine. I stopped taking creatine for a couple of weeks, got retested, and everything was normal.

Do let us know how it goes. Although I'm skeptical, I'm really hoping they make a difference and lower your values. It would be great news to have some real objective evidence that these products work. Maybe then we can get Presser to become a fan of the 12 week dbol cycle :)

It's NAC in the supplement world. It's used in hospitals in injectable form to treat tylenol induced liver toxicity which is known to be fatal, and kill thousands per year, unless treated immediately with NAC. Powerful anti-oxidant too. Very overlooked supp.
