Why is Muscle compared to...

When I was on gear many moons ago, I felt like a mountain. Other people (at clubs, bars, etc.) treated me like one also. I was never an A-Hole though, cocky, etc. so I didn't invite any comers. If anything, I was nicer than I usually am (chicks seemed to dig it...ho-ho-ho). But muscles do not equate to knowing how to fight. Pit a bodybuilder with zero fighting skills against any skilled feather weight boxer and I'd bet on the feather weight every time only because they actually know how to throw a punch. In short, being big doesn't mean squat when it comes to getting down to serious business.

Put a big bodybuilder with excellent wrestling skills and some MMA skills against the number 1 middleweight (I think in the world at that time) and the outcome is very different. There are too many things to factor in. The long and short is if you continually go looking for a fight, you will get your ass beat. It doesn't matter how good you are. A little skill and a lot of muscle can make a huge difference...

brothers, i see tiny dudes take on big dudes all the time! lol.... its called liquid courage. Its part of evolution and why only the strong only survive.

oh.. funny note. We have a bouncer that is 6'6". He's about 320lbs. But nobody really thinks he is that intimidating. He really doesnt have much muscle tone- but omg does he think he's the shit. Anway, he has kinda a complex about how many people notice me instead of him. A lot of people say shit, or hit on me, or whatever... Im not Ginormous, but you know, i've got a decent build. So he just always goes on about how im "so big and musculature" in a sarcastic way..... I said dude, your going to get your ass kicked by a midget one day... you know tyson was only 5'11''

Fighting skills, technique, etc, etc...

Any time I see a bigger, muscular guy, there is a scrawny skinny guy that thinks that they can beat this muscular guy in a fight...

Regardless of what fighting skill that the muscular guy may or may not have, alot of people are quick to discount that if you have muscle, you cannot fight??

Have you guys heard of this before??

At the same time, I think most guys in real life would be more intimidated by someone big and muscular rather than a smaller leaner person??

Where do these ideas get into people heads?? Any funny stories, experiences??

In my experience, some think that the muscle is going to slow you down. Others have actually said to me, "wow, I wouldn't want to be in a fight with you." So I'd say most people are intimidated by a big, muscular guy, just that some think they have to prove that they are still as much of a man in their perception.
