Why are Pro Bodybuilder's contract money not open to the public, like it is in every other pro sport?

:lurk:

because they dont make alot...

I dont know honestly... funny that it isn't public ...

isn't the other major league sports on the stock exchange? also the athletes in the ifbb aren't contracted by the ifbb (also the ifbb isn't publicly traded), however, some of the supplement companies are and those athletes contracts quite possibly would be available in stock reports/company profiles for those that are traded

I did not know that they werent public knowledge but can only specualte if this is true its because the Supplement companys are embarresed at what they pay these guys and gals especialy consodering what the supplement compnays make per year using their names,

I would also venture to guess that alot of politics are in this and with that being said supp companys play favorites and dont want bodybuilder "A" knowing that he/she isnt getting paid nearly as much as bodybuilder "B" for doing the same amount of work, press coverage, advertising ect

but again im just guessing and could be way the fuck off, like i said thats my guess

I believe this to be case. I suspect sponsors pay out unequally based on an athletes marketability and often less on their standing as a pro. For example, I'd bet Cutler made more money from sponsors during the many years he was runner-up to Coleman. Cutler was simply more appealing (making assumptions here) to a broader audience than Coleman was. The same is probably the case for many other pros. So keeping the financial compensation quiet prevents resentment among the athletes but also most likely protects companies from potential allegations of discrimination.

Presser nailed it. It depends, i know Cutler and Dexter and paid to wahzooo...they bring it in...now lower level guys easily spend more on their gear than they get in sponsorship. I have a pro friend who when he competed hard spent 20k year in gear minimum and was sponsored by muscle tech big time...made 20k and free supplements....not really a good deal IMHO

yeah 95% of the pros dont make shit, and not nearly enough to call it "making a living" its sad realy that the supplement companys dont pay shit and its even worse that the top shows like Mr o and Arnold Classic dont pay shit even for the winners! When in reality they could easily pay the winner a Million or so dollars and the others that place could easily and should get upwards of hundred thousand dollars!

Think about how much these supplement companys make and the bodybuilding magazines make and they have the audacity to pay the shit money they pay for the top placers!

Thats why alot of the pros sell gear, and then get into selling other harder shit and wind up giving all of us a bad name when they wind up getting popped!

whats sad is that even a no playing bench warmer 3rd stringer in most pro sports still makes at least 6 figures a year.
