basically it means that you host has pulled the site down to do some maintenance of some sort. there is really no need to change to .org or .net as it would only change the domain name. If you have been experiencing a lot of problems with this I would notify the host of the site. If they dont assure you that the problem will be fixed start liooking for a new provider.

Presser, I am not quite sure what you are saying but if I am understanding you correctly. When you type in musclechemistry.com it should point to the IP address for the site. If, for some reason there is a problem there I would guess that it is the problem of the company hosting the site, the domain name should have nothing to do with it but I may be wrong.

Then again you may be right after reading your response a few times. Try contacting both companies to find out where the problem is, I asked my network admin here at the office and he said that error usually comes from the host.

the page was down last night for a short time. the server wasn't down because i could ping it.209.61.139.217 and the response time was like 30ms. presser how did you get that message that they sent you about keeping you on line for a fee? it sounds to me like someone is hitting you with denial of service attacks (DoS), in order to bilk you for money. but if you say you can get to it if you type the fully qualified domain name. then that sounds like a dns problem. the rest of the guys i work with left but ill grab one of the web geeks in the morning and see what they think. im sure i dont have to tell you dont give anyone any money! if you want send me the email address of the people who are trying to extort you and i will check into that on some linux warez sites for ya.

as far as I know.. it's the domain name redirection company that's down.  If you use the standard:

http://musclechemistry.mantisforums.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi



you should get it no problem..

.. the host is working, it's the redirection company that is having issues.  I have only had 2 times when the board was down (not using the direct link), and that was when the host of the board was upgrading or I fucked up the board doing upgrades on the software.. LOL
