I was talking to a good friend the other day...From a different board (but lives near me) and we were talking about the European guys on how they come in super hard (he is a good friend with many of these guys, and has a inside look at what they do) He said the biggest thing (and I mean the biggest thing) is ??? What do you guys think ???

They just eat cleaner (or diet harder) than we do...Plan and simple as that...Those guys over in Europe dont have a fast food restraunt on every corner, or a Red Lobster, Olive Garden, ect, ect...Every corner of the block...They have to stick to eating clean foods, and they just eat cleaner or diet much harder than we do...Yeah, they have good human grade drugs, but dont tell me you cant get those here to, because yes you have to spend a tad more, but really its not that...Its they diet much harder than us americans do...

What do you guys think ??? Do you think its diet, drugs, training systems, cardio, ect, ect...???

chris

I don't buy that at all. If Europe is like it was 8 years ago when I went, I would say 90% at least is drugs. No serious bodybuilder I have ever known was willing to give drugs anymore credit than they were forced to. They all had B.S. reasons why this or that from sudden massive increases in size to conditioning on stage. Trust me, the stuff you get from the pharmacy will almost always smoke what we order, but it will always be more consistent. Cytadren, Masteron, Proviron, Deca.... cheaper, more consistant, cleaner, more readily available. How many times have you been prepping for a show and your gear is late.... They don't have that issue.

Vetteguy,

Im not saying size game, just conditioning or how grainy and hard they get..Yeah drugs play a part of it...We all know that, but over in
Europe, Im sure they dont have all the restraunts like we do over here...(honestly I dont know for sure, im just telling you what I heard and Im passing it on to you guys) Basically, my friend says that Euro guys are better at dieting than the americans are, and they will scarfice muscle to come in harder and leaner...

I know what you're saying, but in my opinion drugs play a bigger role than the lack of restaurants. Let's look at some of the densest grainiest guys.... Andreas Munzer- died due to complications with an abundant use of cytadren, Dorian... who knows, Dexter lives in Jacksonville, Ronnie lives in Texas, Ahmed Haidar.... I'm not sure where he's living now, but it wasn't Europe. I guess its more a person to person thing. I don't think a lack of restaurants has anything to do with it though! Maybe the big name Europeans as a whole diet harder than the US guys, but I doubt it. Doesn't Markus Ruhl live in Europe?? Maybe someone should tell him about what the Europeans are doing :-)

I know what your saying bro, I think its just we have more choices over here than in Europe...More food choices, more of this and that...Yeah, drugs play a roll...I know that, we all know that...but I think maybe Euro guys work harder at getting leaner, than we do over here...I think over here we play the size game, and over there they go with more conditioning to win shows...Honestly I dont know, Im just passing on what was told to me...But, im not disagree with ya either...

chris

This is an EXCELLENT point and this definately serves to validate some of what you are saying. I've seen the guys winning the European shows. They are extremely conditioned.

I have to agree that the food is a big difference--not necessarily the shortage of fast-food places--but rather the fact that fresh fruit/vegetables and other food are readily available there as they are in most every other country, thus making different eating habits. Here in the U.S. we rely on supermarkets quite a lot, and fresh stuff is there (not quite as fresh as picked THAT day, but it's there), but when we want a quick snack or other food item, it is relatively harder for us to get something healthy, so eating habits are different here. If you've ever lived in a foreign country for any period of time, you understand this right away.

not to mention saud, that ours lifes are more hectic here. we work alot more hours and have more stressful lives than euros in general.

i believe diet i have a friend who is ripped year round (fast metabolism) and when he diets down he is really grainy looking i think you can get that look if you stay in better shape year round rather than get overly fat

I remember reading somewhere that many pro's like to train in certain countries, South America for example do to the fact that there foods have a higher nutritional value than what we get here. Most foods there grow in a warmer climate, the soils are more fertile, and for local produce and meats being sold there, they dont use chemicals and pesticides. Only the stuff that gets shipped to us for international purposes gets that. As for the grainy look, my guess would be more cardio conditioning on their part, along with easily and attainable HG products right from the Pharmacy. Halo, and Anavar primarily come to mind. Back in the day, both of those were crucial for me to use, both physically and mentally. Today, I still have not found a great source of either, most UG stuff is cut or underdosed or even not the same structure. Also, the same goes for diuretics. Many people dont pay enough attention to sodium in their diet. Sodium depletion is very important to limit sub q water. Most americans just think a few lasix tabs will do the trick. If you wash all your food and fish and meats in distilled water you can limit both sodium and chemical additives that are used to stabilize our foods for shelf life. Any other thoughts on this, as this is an interesting thread????

I believe staying lean year around is a big part of getting grainy hard look...

Nice thread

Removing gear and weights from the equation.....aren't Europeans just more lean, in general?

I mean, in Europe....don't they think all Americans are fat?

I don't see too many European broads that's badonkadonk.....knowwhatimsayin!?

Yeah I do think that most Euro's even while bulked up are leaner than what we stay at...Yeah they have better AAS, im sure more potent stuff..IDK, I wish we had a Euro guy on the board to chime in

If we are talking about England/ Great Britain, yeah there food sucks.... they boil everything.

Id be super lean too if i could eat shoe leather for dinner.

i like shoe leather..

bro u need to come around my house i will show u boiled.MMMMmm boiled burger...we call it soup..lol..
in england if u buy cheap u eat cheap simple as that..we have many 5 star michelin chefs here that cook not boil food.
yes we boil potatoes yes we boil carrots yes we boil pasta dont u?
but when u have i life of free refils like u guys do then i think that culture has a lot to do with it.
look at the greeks or cyprus they have fewer heart related problems than u guys why DIET SIMPLE AS THAT....
many of the islands have a culture of fresh fish yes that means england to(not boiled).and not deep fried but with a drizzle of olive oil.all u can eat for $10 nice...

I think the answer is simply this: TOO MUCH TEST! If you look at the dryness of the american bbder inthe late seventies and eighties you would see that they are much drier than today. I think that test was basically unused back then.....now it is a staple. Deca was king in the old days! Deca and dbol and anavar got the job done also primo. We want size too quick today
