The Brazilian featherweight was slated to face Zubaira Tukhugov at Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas, N.V., and the company attempted to find a replacement after Tukhugov was forced off the event. According to sources, however, UFC was unable to secure a new opponent for “Carcacinha,” who has now been pulled from the lineup.
The promotion will attempt to book Ramos in a new match sooner rather than later in one of its upcoming cards in Las Vegas, sources said, but nothing is set at the moment.
Ramos (14-3) was victorious in five of seven under the UFC banner, going 1-1 at featherweight, and was looking to get back to the winning column following a first-round stoppage defeat to Lerone Murphy this past July.
UFC Vegas 21 currently features 13 bouts, including a five-round headliner between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.
