well after bumming it up for a year being a useless mf, I now find myself having to get back into the swing of working out 6 days a week and juggling that with work, I fear if I get 2 jobs all my progress will vanish, but maybe I should go off the heavier weight for a bit and go back to my 220-280 rep 20-25 minute moderate to light weight
workouts for a few weeks until I get the hang of it again

It's tough, dude. And just wait until you add kids to the mix.

I have 2 teenage boys, and work 3rd shift at a steelmill. I get about 4 to 5 hours a sleep a day. Wake up, eat, then go to the gym for 1 to 2 1/2 hours depending on what I have that day. It's all about dedication my friend. Not to mention I'm training for my 1st show in November. Where there's a will, there is a way....

It's all a matter of priorities. Where does the gym fit in? And what if the job starts wanting you to work longer hours? Then the wife starts wanting more time with you. And you want to spend time with kids (when you have them). There are only so many hours in a day.

yeah I have done the 72-80 hours a week in between school clinicals and work and worked out in the past but I would only go usually 3 days a week than, and def could not have got comp ready like that lol, im dedicated just have to get back in the swing of it as my ass drags from work and my inability to sleep at night

and yeah Ox I dont know how i'll act until I actually have kids I suppose

Yeah, that is a problem too. Hard to have the energy after a hard day's work sometimes. There is a little crappy gym about 5-10 minutes from where I work. Sometimes when I know I'm going to be busy after work, I'll run there at lunch for a 30 minute workout.

This is where having a woman who understands your goals really comes into play. At one time my wife wanted to be home all the time and hated me goin to the gym. Then she realized how much this means to me and I have some pretty good potential in this sport. She is one of biggest supporters now. Don't get me wrong, my family comes first. Really helps to have your family support you.....

Getting the workouts in are hard. Im a single dad which means i work, clean , cook, groceries, laundry and everything. Actually the toughest part is getting in all the meals. Thats tougher. I workout in my basement which helps. I am lucky to have a great paying job, ofcourse the fucking soon to be ex-wife will take a lot of that. Sorry to ramble

Exactly right! If your wife is nagging you about going to the gym, you are toast. Or, your marriage is. That is why it's good that your wife works out with you sometimes, Metal. She understands why it is important to you.

I would have to agree with zeus about when there's a will there's a way. But metal dont be hard on yourself brother, Your dedication and your wife's support will be motivation to push through this. I understand its hard cuz I am juggling two jobs and a wife as well then to top it we have different schedules. The best thing you got going is your wife goes to the gym at times so that's a plus. I couldn't get my wife to step in the gym with me if I wanted her too. But if you want wont you try just working out 4 days a week. I manage to fit good workouts in four days then manage to rest a bit as well. But in the end its what you feel is gonna fit your schedule.

I feel like if I dont isolate everything I dont even come close to the results muscle wise and with fat loss as if I do isolate. I also do most the cooking, and we split everything else, im on the cusp of my abs coming thru so I def dont want to lose that lol im retarded but I havent had any sort of abs for like 4 years so Im really excited they are coming back but really afraid they will vanish if I do any less

Well I wouldn't say your doing less its just cramming more body parts on ur training days. You might have mention it but how long are your training session going to be for, and just hang in there bro everything will work out.

zues hit it right on the head...its all about dedication and having a good woman...i work over 100 hours a week 7 days a week and all nights....my girl makes me all my food just about and goes to the gym with me...its not easy for either of us but we make it work
