Mark Wahlberg Maintaining Insane Abs In Lean Physique Update

Mark Wahlberg Maintaining Insane Abs In Lean Physique Update

Mark Wahlberg has been able to keep his abs sculpted at 51 years old.
Mark Wahlberg is the perfect example of how longevity is possible in the gym with the right diet and exercise routine. The Hollywood superstar has remained active both in the gym and on social media showing off his progress. This is how he is able to maintain shredded abs at 51 years old.
Wahlberg burst onto the fitness scene as a model during the 90s. He became known for a Calvin Klein ad that showed off his build. Now, he is one of the top actors in the world and has made plenty of hits.
Most recently, Wahlberg starred alongside Kevin Hart in the Netflix movie Me Time. In his opening scene, Wahlberg encounters Hart, who is his longtime friend, while skinny dipping with others. This is one of the movies that Wahlberg was able to show off his sculpted physique.

Mark Wahlberg is used to getting his physique in, or out of, shape for a role. Of course, he was forced to add some weight when he played a boxer-turned-priest in Father Stu. Wahlberg quickly lost that extra fat and was able to get his abs back.

Mark Wahlberg Workout Plan
Mark Wahlberg has been advertising his new workout routine F45 Training. This is the style that has him performing two-a-days recently. The plan is styled around different workouts performed up to a minute at a time.
Wahlberg recently joined Pardon My Take, a podcast affiliated with Barstool Sports. During the extremely entertaining interview, the trio took some time to discuss workouts.
“Most people that go in, unfortunately, especially if you are an athlete, they start going so hard so fast. They get gassed out in five or 10 minutes. You have to basically pace yourself and realize, the most fit, athletic person could do an amazing workout. Someone who has ever been in the gym can modify it,” Wahlberg explained.
“You’re doing 45 seconds of pushups with a resistance band around your shoulders, you’re going to get gassed out so quick. What about the other 44 minutes?”

The diet and exercise plan of Mark Wahlberg is always one that is popular because of the success he has had over the years. Despite being one of the best actors right now, Wahlberg has solidified himself as a fitness inspiration.

PNBA Chris Moore’s 5-Year Natural Bodybuilding Transformation at Age 50+

PNBA Chris Moore’s 5-Year Natural Bodybuilding Transformation at Age 50+

Image via Instagram @chris_nattypro
PNBA athlete Chris Moore shares a 5-year natural bodybuilding transformation he achieved in his 50s.
As we age, our body starts to deteriorate, and we’re not as fit and strong as we used to be. However, with the proper training and nutrition approach, you can mitigate the effects of aging, such as muscle atrophy, and be in fantastic shape most of your life. Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association (PNBA) athlete Chris Moore is a good example. Chris Moore recently shared a five-year natural bodybuidling transformation. Moore stated:
“Transformation Tuesday. 5 years of hard work at 50 plus years of age. Age is just a number and excuses are just that, excuses. Adapt and overcome!”
You can see Chris Moore’s transformation photo below.

Chris Moore competes in the Pro Grand Masters 50+ division, and his next show is INBA PNBA Pro/Am Natural Universe this weekend. Although Moore’s has had an aspiring natural bodybuilding transformation over the last five years, this weekend’s Pro Grand Masterers Line up is stacked with elite athletes. These contenders include 4x Natural Olympia champion Philip Ricardo Jr., tattoo champion and extremely passionate competitor Ken Ross, and vegan and animal rights activist Michael Ferencsik.
Training for Longevity
Natural bodybuilders who abide by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) drug testing guidelines and stay natural can have a long career and remain in fantastic shape for decades. For example, Chad Martin has been competing in this league for over 20 years and still competes at an elite level. Although Martin acknowledges that we have an anabolic window, we’re building muscle, and losing body fat is more manageable. But he’s one of many athletes who have shown that natural bodybuilding is a fountain of youth.
Each competitor has its strategy for longevity. For example, Michael Ferencsik and Tamer Barakat praise being vegan for helping them stay youthful and build their physiques. And other athletes keep their training volume lower to allow for more recovery time. Furthermore, natural bodybuilders will take time off from competing and go through more extended bulking periods to give their body’s a break from contest prep. So natural athletes do many things to keep their bodies healthy. But above all, they stray away from drugs to enhance their physiques.
Natural Universe and Natural Olympia
Natural Universe takes place on September 3rd, 2022, in Tampa, FL–firm time a big natural bodybuilding show will be held here. Over 30 pro athletes are competing this year for a chance to earn prizes, PNBA Elite World Tour Points, and social media exposure. It’s one of the more significant INBA PNBA shows, and it qualifies athletes for Natural Olympia.
Those who compete at Natural Universe will join the athletes already pre-qualified for the most significant natural bodybuilding show, Natural Olympia. Its importance in natural bodybuilding is comparable to the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Pro league’s biggest show, Olympia.
The first Natural Olympia was held in 1998, with John Hansen crowned champion. Fast forward over two decades; it’s now Paul Krueger, the Men’s Bodybuilding reigning champion.

Samir Bannout Breaks Down Top Five In Olympia Compared To Big Ramy: ‘Nobody Is Going To Look Big Enough’

Samir Bannout Breaks Down Top Five In Olympia Compared To Big Ramy: ‘Nobody Is Going To Look Big Enough’

Samir Bannout recently discussed how the 2022 Olympia contest could play out.
Samir Bannout carved out an impressive career on the bodybuilding stage. Now, he keeps up to date with the latest happenings in the sport and still has an eye for talent. Recently, he discussed how the 2022 Olympia competition might look.
Bannout had a chance to compete on stage against some other legendary talents, such as Dorian Yates and Lee Haney. In 1983, Bannout was crowned Olympia champion. This was the lone victory of his career and has him in the history books. Bannout retired from competition in 1996 and has remained active in fitness ever since.
Recently, Samir Bannout joined The Muscle Maturity podcast to discuss the upcoming Olympia. He believes that Big Ramy will win his third consecutive title because of his pure size.
“He’s definitely going to be he biggest on stage. To me, it’s not always the biggest who wins but he looked pretty symmetrical on top. His chest looks good. He looks good from the side. I’d love to see his legs and the whole body.”
When discussing the topic, Bannout broke down the other competitors’ chances.

Brandon Curry and Hadi Choopan
Brandon Curry finished as the runner-up to Big Ramy in each of the last two years. He won the 2022 Arnold Classic and is looking to remain near the top of the score card.
“I still think Brandon will be his toughest competition if Brandon comes in ripped. I don’t think he’s coming in ripped. Of course, Ramy is going to be bigger,” Bannout said.
“The only medicine for Brandon is to be more shredded. Ultra shredded. Whatever he did in Kuwait, he looked good. Don’t get me wring but I see more room for improvements.”
Hadi Choopan finished third during the 2021 Olympia when many thought he should have been crowned the champion. Choopan was extremely conditioned and this caused a stir from some of the old-school competitors.

Samir Bannout believes that Choopan will be ripped once again but might not have the size that Big Ramy does.
“I think Hadi probably will be super etched, ripped, and probably bigger than usual. Standing next to Ramy, nobody is going to look big enough…The most impressive pop-up muscle I saw, Hadi had it. Hadi’s always pop up and look silky. I thought Hadi deserved better honestly.”
I would still think Brandon and Hadi, these are the top three for sure,” Bannout said.

Hunter Labrada
Hunter Labrada burst onto the scene as one of the young stars in bodybuilding. He earned fourth at last year’s competition and is looking to make some improvements this time around.
“Hunter has a smaller waist, shoulder to waist ratio and his legs are really good…I thought Nick looked Harder than Hunter last year but the judges picked Hunter because he probably flowed and showed his body differently.”
Samir Bannout discussed some of the changes that Labrada will need to make in order to improve his standing on the biggest stage in the sport.
“I think Hunter needs to be a little bit more dryer. If he comes in etched like Hadi, if Hunter comes in etched like Hadi, he would probably make the top three but he needs to add more clarity to his muscle.”
Samir Bannoutbeieves that Big Ramy has an edge this year once again but admits that it will be an entertaining show. The top tier of the Men’s Open division is strong and will make for some battles up top.

Bodybuilding Icon Lou Ferrigno Reflects On Using Actual Physique For Incredible Hulk Role

Bodybuilding Icon Lou Ferrigno Reflects On Using Actual Physique For Incredible Hulk Role

Lou Ferrigno is proud that he did not use fake muscles or costumes when portraying the superhero.
In many instances, bodybuilders can land roles in movies or television because of their massive physique and build. Lou Ferrigno was one of the originals as he starred in The Incredible Hulk television series for five seasons back in the 70s. Unlike many superheroes today, Ferrigno did not wear a costume or use fake muscles because, simply put, he didn’t have to.
Ferrigno burst onto the bodybuilding scene because of his incredible size and conditioning. He began training with Arnold Schwarzenegger and had some battles with the best to ever do it when they were both in their prime. Ferrigno placed second to Schwarzenegger doing the 1974 Olympia, which was his first competition of the kind.
Ferrigno is a two-time Mr. Universe champion and one of the pioneers of bodybuilding. In 1977, the same year he began acting as the big green superhero, Ferrigno was featured in the classic documentary Pumping Iron, alongside Schwarzenegger. Now, Ferrigno remains active in fitness and often is seen sharing different workouts and exercises.

Lou Ferrigno “Wasn’t Going To Let Anyone Down” With His Physique For The Hulk
Lou Ferrigno remains active on social media and recently shared a post reflecting on his time as The Hulk.
“To this day I can’t think of another superhero that isn’t in costume or CGI
I had to work damn hard on my diet and exercise for the Hulk. Wasn’t going to let anyone down – especially myself.
The hulk was my hero as a kid as well”

Lou Ferrigno used his pure physique for the role of The Hulk. He added green paint and let his build play the part. This allowed him to become more known for his massive size and shredded look.
Ferrigno is an old-school mind in bodybuilding. He recently was given the chance to tour the home gym of the late Jack LaLanne, along with his wife Elaine LaLanne. The two showed off some original machines that have been used for close to 100 years.
The days of The Hulk are long gone but Lou Ferrigno remains an icon in the world of bodybuilding and superheroes. It is clear that after all of these years that Ferrigno is still proud of the work he was able to put in to provide the best version of himself during the show.

Larry Wheels And Andrew Jacked Team Up For Huge Shoulder And Bicep Workout

Larry Wheels And Andrew Jacked Team Up For Huge Shoulder And Bicep Workout

Andrew Jacked and Larry Wheels have teamed up many times in the past and have now once again.
Larry Wheels has taken on many avenues over the course of his career. He is an accomplished powerlifter who has dabbled in bodybuilding and arm wrestling over the course of his career. He is also an athlete who Andrew Jacked credits for getting his career off the ground.
Jacked is one of the up-and-coming talents in bodybuilding. He earned his Pro Card this year winning the 2022 Arnold Classic Amateur. He followed that up with a victory at the 2022 Texas Pro and will now have a chance to compete at the Olympia.
Wheels recently began focusing on his health as he was hit hard by the news of the deaths in bodybuilding. He began gettin checked by doctors because of his use of PEDs. Wheels continues to lift heavy in the gym and use different supplements to keep his physique at an elite level. The duo got together in Dubai for a massive shoulder and bicep workout.

Larry Wheels and Andrew Jacked Workout

Lateral Raises
This workout is mainly shoulder day and it begins with cable lateral raises. The lift is performed with lighter weights as the duo begins to warmup the muscles. The second warmup of the workout are chest-supported dumbbell lateral raises. Andrew Jacked and Larry Wheels begin to up the weight a bit here.
Jacked and Wheels perform the first sets with two dumbbells but move onto just one in the final superset. This is when they hold one weight with two hands to perform the movement.
Wheels is one of the top powerlifters in the game right now and has been watching his health this year. He recently got off steroids and began using other supplements. He explains that he feels good now that he is not on a full cycle.
“On a full-blown cycle on blast, within the first exercise, I’m already pumped,” Wheels said.
Overhead Press/Cable Upright Row Superset
After two warmups, Andrew Jacked and Larry Wheels take on heavier weights. This superset is one that hits the delts, pecs, traps, and triceps. There is a way to focus on multiple parts of the body during a superset. That is what the duo is able to accomplish here.
During the workout, Jacked shares that he believes in training calves multiple times a week. This is important when bringing the full package to the bodybuilding stage.
“I do calves before my workout. That was the discipline I gave myself everyday,” Jacked said.
Bicep Curls
The workout concludes with cable curls and cable hammer curls. Jacked is preparing for his first appearance in the Olympia and explains how he prefers cable machines for better control. He also explains the breakdown of his diet just 17 weeks out.
“I don’t measure my Neals but when I diet, I get results. You know your body well. You know foods you should and shouldn’t eat. You should eat until you’re content and satisfied,” Jacked said.

‘Kai’ Exclusive Clip – Phil Heath Gets Real About The “Ugly” Rivalry Moments With Kai Greene

Phil Heath speaks honestly about the most intense moments from his rivalry with Kai Greene in new exclusive clip from Kai.
Watch the new exclusive clip from Kai – available now on digital! You can order KAI today right here. In this clip, Phil Heath gives a rare interview reflecting on his rivalry with Kai Greene. Looking back at the 2014 Mr. Olympia press conference, Heath gives his side of the story commenting on things got “ugly” during their clash both at the press conference and on the stage.
The Kai Greene vs Phil Heath rivalry just might be one of the most famous rivalries in the entirety of bodybuilding. Nearly evenly matched with different body types – Kai and Phil clashed at multiple Mr. Olympia competitions. They were the featured duo in the original Generation Iron – and things only heated up from there.
Most famous was the 2014 Mr. Olympia, where Kai Greene and Phil Heath clashed before the stage show even started. The press conference, usually an exciting affair with some trash talk, nearly broke into complete chaos. It was no longer the Olympia press conference. It became the Kai and Phil show.

This set the stage for what only escalated from there. Kai Greene and Phil Heath nearly came to blows on the competition stage. It was one of the most memorable unexpected moments in Mr. Olympia history. Ultimately, Phil defeated Kai on every Olympia occasion. But it didn’t matter. Both men were etched into history for their larger than life personas to match their massive physiques.
In Kai, Phil Heath provides a brand new exclusive interview – where he reflects on the rivalry beat by beat for the first time in years. In this clip, Phil looks back at the 2014 press conference and admits to how “ugly” their rivalry became in that moment. Now nearly a decade later – it’s fascinating to see what both of these bodybuilding veterans think of not just that moment but the rivalry as a whole.
Kai is available now on all major digital platforms! You can order today by clicking right here or on the banner below.

Jay Cutler Takes Fitness Star Jesse James West Through Bodybuilding Poses Following Chest Workout

Jay Cutler Takes Fitness Star Jesse James West Through Bodybuilding Poses Following Chest Workout

Jay Cutler shared his bodybuilding wisdom with Jesse James West following huge workout.
Fitness star Jesse James West is no stranger to working with bodybuilders. He is beginning to dabble in the sport himself and recently got advice from one of the best to ever do it. Jay Cutler joined West for a chest workout followed by tips on how to get the best out of poses.
Cutler is a four-time Olympia champion, having ended the eight-year reign for Ronnie Coleman back in 2007. This was the first of two separate back-to-back titles for Cutler as he won four competitions in five years.
West is beginning to train as a bodybuilder and joined Cutler for a chest workout. It began with machine chest presses followed by cable crossovers. The duo continued to lift heavy with incline dumbbell presses and incline barbell presses. The workout finished with posing, which Cutler uses as conditioning.
“Every workout is different so I don’t follow a textbook…I would do posing for 30 minutes a day because this is going to help condition you.”

Jay Cutler Leads Jesse James West Through Poses
Jesse James West has built a massive social media following, approaching two million subscribers on YouTube. This is because of a combination of his personality and shredded physique. He has previously lifted with Coleman and now got some posing tips from Cutler.

West plans to compete on stage and transition into a bodybuilder. In the gym, Cutler wanted to make it a competition-like atmosphere.

“Let’s pretend, this is like you’re in competition,” Cutler said.
“Remember in a weeks time dude, your conditioning is going to be sharper. What you see now, in a week’s time, it’s going to be that much sharper.”
Following the session, Jesse James West picked the brain of Jay Cutler as to what division he should focus on.
“I think you should do classic. You got legs, dude. I’m going to suggest you do both. I think you could do very well in both. Remember, just because you win or lose, if you win both it’s great.”

PNBA Natural Olympia Champ Derek Joe’s Top 3 Lower Body Bodybuilding Exercises

PNBA Natural Olympia Champ Derek Joe’s Top 3 Lower Body Bodybuilding Exercises

Image via Instagram @djoe.hype
PNBA Natural Olympia Classic Physique champ Derek Joe performs his top 3 exercises a week out from Natural Universe.
The reigning Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association (PNBA) Natural Olympia Classic Physique champ Derek Joe crushes lower body exercises a week out from Natural Universe. Pro/Am Natural Universe takes place in Tampa, FL, on September 2-3, 2022. Derek Joe shared a physique update with us a couple of weeks ago to show how his preparation for the show’s been going. And recently, he may have performed his final leg workout before this huge natural bodybuilding event.
Iron Man Magazine uploaded a clip of Derek Joe performing his top 3 exercises a couple of days ago. Iron Man Magazine’s social media post said:
“Here are the top three exercises of raining PNBA Natural Olympia Classic Physique Champion @djoe.hype
Squats: compound movement, strengthens core, and burns a lot of calories, develops glutes and legs.
RDL with a toe lift: it create a little bit more instability by lifting the toes versus having them flat on the floor, but it does allow you to sit back into your hips and maintain a proper hip hinge movement and is a good exercise for a beginner learning how to dead lift.
The Bulgarian split squat: Single leg functional movement done with the rear leg up on a bench. It’s a great alternative to doing a squat if you have a lower back injury. Since you are using one leg at a time the overload on the legs will be much less, but still as effective.
This will more than likely be his final leg workout before the @inbapnbaglobal_official Natural Universe in one week!?”
You can see Derek Joe doing these movements below.

Top 3 Exercises
To build a physique like Joe, the lower body exercises he makes a regular part of his routine are paramount. Derek Joe’s top 3 exercises are the squat, Romanian deadlift (RDL), and Bulgarian split squat.
Squat
It’s no surprise that the exercise regarded by many (other than deadlifts) ranks as one of Joe’s top exercises. Squats let you place a heavy load on your back to strengthen and build muscle in your entire lower body–glutes, quads, and hamstrings. Because this movement allows you to use a heavy weight and target all the muscles in your lower body, it’s one of the best exercises you can do to build a muscular physique.
Romanian Deadlift (RDL)
The RDL develops your posterior chain muscles (back, hamstrings, glutes). Compared to the conventional deadlift, this movement’s decreased range of motion–starting with weight held in front of hips– will place less strain on your back and engage your hamstrings more.
Bulgarian Split Squat
This unilateral (single-limb) leg movement improves your balance, core, knee, and hip stability. Plus, since it’s a unilateral movement, it will give you a better mind-muscle connection and help you fix lagging muscles. The Bulgarian split squat will target all the muscles in your legs like standard squats, but it will put your core into overdrive.
Lower Body Exercises

Squat: 4 sets x 8-12 reps
RDL: 4 sets x 12 reps
Bulgarian Split Squat: 4 sets x 8-12 reps

Mike O’Hearn And Joseph Baena Team Up For ‘Old-School’ Back Workout

Mike O’Hearn And Joseph Baena Team Up For ‘Old-School’ Back Workout

Mike O’Hearn shares the secret to longevity with Joseph Baena and viewers.
Healthy muscles lead to longevity in the gym. If there is one man who knows about this, it is Mike O’Hearn. At 53 years old, O’Hearn has maintained an insane physique and continues to be a force in the gym. Recently, he joined Joseph Baena to go through a bay workout that will help keep muscles in good shape long term.
O’Hearn has a long history as a bodybuilder, actor, and model thanks to his shredded build. He is a four-time Mr. Universe champion and has been on the cover of many fitness magazines. Baena is the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and clearly has a passion for fitness like his father. He has spoken on how he has made his way into the gym on many occasions and is building an impressive physique that is helping on the big screen as well.
LISTEN: The Mike O’Hearn Show | Generation Iron Network Podcast
This is not the first time that Mike O’Hearn and Joseph Baena have worked out together. Just a couple weeks ago, the duo met for an arm workout featuring some supersets that will add size. Now, they decided to hit back.

Mike O’Hearn Wants Joseph Baena To Be Lifting In His 70’s
There comes a point where Mike O’Hearn believes that it is about building healthy muscles and keeping your body in shape. That can start early and is what he is preaching to Joseph Baena here.
“You’re in your 20s, I want you lifting at 75. At some point, you’re going to go, ‘the muscle is cool and everything, but I want healthy arms and shoulders.”
O’Hearn shared the video to his YouTube account. During the session, the two shared different insights on the best way to perform the exercise. It began with wide-grip pull-ups and bent over barbell rows.
“A little bit more, just that squeeze at the top. Instead of it being flat, I’d like to pop it all the way back. Almost like you’re posting from the back,” Mike O’Hearn said.
This is one of the exercises that O’Hearn believes is connected to longevity. Young lifters are training to build bigger muscles that are tailored to bodybuilding but he believes that healthy muscles and joints are more important long term.

As the two continue to perform the bent over rows while standing on a bench, they discuss different techniques. O’Hearn speaks on how keeping the back stiff will make the exercise safer.
“You create stiffness prior to the exercise, prior to lifting it. He created stiffness in the back and then he pulled here. It’s creating the stiffness that keeps you safe. It’s not the actual position. It’s the stiffness within the position,” Mike O’Hearn said.
“It’s really the stretch that’s the game changer. I feel like it’s the whole back stretching not just the upper lats.” Joseph Baena said.
Mike O’Hearn has created many workouts using his old-school mentality and it has worked like a charm. He continues to share wisdom with the next generation.
