A visual recap of the INBA/PNBA World Championships competition – part of the Road To Natural Olympia.
This summer held one of the biggest natural bodybuilding events of the year – the INBA/PNBA World Championships in Florence, Italy on June 25, 2022. The competition is a truly vital one for the league – part of the Road To Natural Olympia series – competitors have a chance to qualify for the Natural Olympia competition later this year. It’s also a major opportunity for amateur athletes to earn their pro cards.
The World Championships is also notable for bringing together a truly diverse and powerful line up of competitors from across the globe. Each athlete representing their nation to further place it on the map in the sport of bodybuilding.
Denny Kakos, INBA PNBA’s founder, has high hopes for natural bodybuilding. Bringing bodybuilding to the Olympics is his ultimate goal. The Olympics also abides by WADA regulations and prohibit drugs.
Generation Iron was behind the scenes at the event capturing the full house event in and the epic battles that ensued on stage. You can watch our full recap sizzle reel from the INBA/PNBA World Championships 2022 above.
2022 World Championships Athlete Highlights
Generation Iron (GI) interviewed a few key contenders participating in the weekend show. Below are the competitors we talked to, and they gave us some insight into what they look to achieve.
Kayla Rowling
3x Bikini Divas Natural Olympia champ and multi-media athlete Kayla Rowling is one of the most prominent INBA PNBA competitors competing at the 2022 INBA PNBA World Championships. Rowling’s excited about this competition exceptionally because it will be her first international bikini competition of the year. To prepare for the show, Rowling shared her pre-contest breakfast nutrition plan. Rowling has been eating five egg whites, asparagus, and mushrooms for breakfast to prep for the event.

Veronica Malloy
2x Natural Olympia champ and Hall of Fame Inductee Veronica Malloy placed well at 2021 Natural Olympia, receiving third place in Bikini Angels and a top-five placement in the Figure class. GI recently spoke with Malloy about strategies to find WADA-compliant supplements. According to Malloy, WADA doesn’t have a compliant supplement list, so INBA PNBA athletes must do their due diligence to learn what supplements will pass screenings. Malloy agrees that although Florence, Italy, is beautiful, she’s there for work–she does admit to probably indulging in pizza and other Italian cuisines after the show, though.

Tommi Thompson
Tommi Thompson’s been competing with the INBA PNBA since 2017 in the Men’s Bodybuilding Open category. He’s also been serving in the military for over 20 years. Thompson gave GI a dive into his contest prep for the show in Florence, Italy, and ways Thompon’s conditioning his body to burn fat without losing muscle. Plus, he’s being trained by Natural Olympia champ Philip Ricardo Jr. Thompon’s been keeping his weights heavy during the cutting process to show up on stage in Florence at his best conditioning.

PNBA Natural Olympia Classic Physique champ Derek Joe looks striking while guest posing three weeks from Natural Universe.
Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association (PNBA) Classic Physique champ Derek Joe updated Generation Iron on his physique and training as he prepares for Natural Universe on September 3, 2022, in Tampa, Florida. Derek Joe won the Classic Physique division at 2021 Natural Olympia. And he has a multi-media contract with Generation Iron, Iron Man Magazine, and the INBA PNBA.
This past weekend, August 13, 2022, at the INBA Colorado State show, Derek Joe had a guest posing seminar. To prepare for this, he tested a new protocol, aiming for 100 reps per muscle group daily. Joe stated:
“This week specifically, I am doing a mock peak week with full body workout, 100 reps per muscle group each day, to test out a new protocol leading into guest posing on Saturday August 13 at the INBA Colorado State show.”
Besides the workout strategy Joe is testing, Joe did mention that he’s changed up his workout plan. Joe said, “I did recently switch up my workout routine from training from three days/on one day off, doing legs once every eight days to a modified German volume training.”
He weighed in at 177.5 lbs the week before the INBA Colorado State show Joe was guest posing for. And he said he’d like to cut to 174 lbs by the end of the week.
Below is an Instagram clip and description of Derek Joe’s guest posing session.

Next Up for Classic Physique Champ Derek Joe
Ahead of Joe, he has Natural Universe, Teams USA (September 23), and will close out the year at The Pinnacle of Natural Bodybuilding, Natural Olympia, on November 10-13, 2022, in Las Vegas, NV.
Derek Joe said:
“My mindset is very much dialed in and I’m staying focused on the details leading into the upcoming show in Florida, not worrying about anybody else.”
The Pinnacle of Natural Bodybuilding
Natural Olympia is the most prominent event in the sport of natural bodybuilding hosted by the INBA PNBA. Its significance in natural bodybuilding is equivalent to Mr. Olympia in the IFBB Pro league. There’s one distinct difference, though–Natural Olympia athletes are drug tested by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) compliant laboratories. WADA is the same drug test metric the Olympics use.
Originally, the INBA PNBA was co-founded by Denny Kakos under American Bodybuilding Association (ABA) in 1988. He wanted to create a bodybuilding environment for natural athletes and qualify them for awards. Denny Kakos founded the PNBA in 1990 after wanting to allow natural athletes to compete at the pro level, which qualified to turn pro. Later, he discovered the INBA in 1994 to make natural bodybuilding global.
Competitors from over 60 countries train to earn a spot at Natural Olympia and place well. Last year’s Natural Olympia had winners from multiple countries. Natural Olympia also gives the most significant cash and prizes to natural athletes. They gave away a Harley-Davidson at 2021 Natural Olympia.

Michal Krizo Ready To Dominate Bodybuilding, Shares Massive Physique Update At 293 Pounds

Michal Krizo Ready To Dominate Bodybuilding, Shares Massive Physique Update At 293 Pounds

Michal Krizo is preparing to earn his Pro Card and potentially appear at the Olympia.
Michal Krizo is pegged as the next big thing in bodybuilding. He has officially made the move to NPC hoping to earn his Pro Card while continuing to post physique updates to social media. In his most recent one, Krizo weighed in at 293 pounds while looking shredded.
It has been one month since Krizo announced his move to NPC from the IFBB Elite Pro League, where he was one of the biggest stars. Krizo burst onto the scene because of his monstrous size and conditioning. Now, the Slovakian bodybuilder will compete in a show to earn his Pro Card with the goal of eventually making his way to the Olympia stage.
Along with many hashtags about bodybuilding, Krizo captioned his picture “Actual shape 133kg.”

The hype around Michal Krizo continues to grow as he gets closer to IFBB competition. According to many credible sources, this hype is real.

Michal Krizo Continues To Turn Heads
Since making the jump in league, Krizo has been seen by some of the best minds in bodybuilding. This includes Milos Sarcev, who Krizo saw at the Dragon’s Lair in July.
RELATED: How Will Michal Krizo Stack Up to Top Athletes in the IFBB Pro League?
Sarcev spoke on the build of Krizo and stated that he is a legitimate threat. Also, Jay Cutler ran into Krizo during a workout and spoke about him in a YouTube video. Cutler would like to see Krizo make his way to the Olympia stage in 2022 and believes he would upset some people.

There is still a few months for Krizo to earn qualification to the Olympia. The qualification period ends in November.
Michal Krizo shares his physique update just one day after Vitaliy Ugolnikov, down as Good Vito, did the same. At 275 pounds, Ugolnikov is looking shredded and ready to make an impact in NPC. He is another up-and-coming talent that made the switch from the IFBB Elite Pro League. These are two competitors that have a chance to make waves once they earn their Pro Card.
Michal Krizo continues to put on size and improve his physique. This is a scary thought for competitors given the fact that he is already looking like the real deal.

Straight Facts: Everything You Need To Know About Fake Steroids On The Black Market

Straight Facts: Everything You Need To Know About Fake Steroids On The Black Market

[embedded content]

Jerry Brainum breaks down the straight facts of black market steroids and the odds that the substances will be fake.
In the 1990s, the United States passed the Steroid Control Act – which changed the legal status of steroids and many other PEDs. It became much more strict on how doctors can prescribe steroids. Thus, the athletic use of steroids was altered away from more legitimate sources and turned towards the black market. Much like other illegal designer drugs such as ecstasy, cocaine, and heroine – you simply don’t know exactly what you are getting in black market steroid products. In our latest Straight Facts episode, Jerry Brainum explains in detail the reality of black market steroids – and your odds of getting a fake or dangerous product as a result.
The legality of obtaining steroids and other PEDs changed significantly in the 1990s. Due to steroids becoming a fully controlled substance – a black market emerged to fill the gap for athletes and bodybuilders looking to still obtain these drugs. Much has been talked about how the war on drugs simply drives users to turn to shadowy less legitimate sources. For steroids, this is no different. Now many steroid users turn to the dark web or foreign countries to obtain substances.
The problem with this, as Jerry Brainum points out in this episode, is that there are no regulations for black market substances. This means that you never really know what you are purchasing and putting into your body. Drug deals simply want to make a profit – and will do whatever is possible to reduce costs and earn more overhead. That means diluted substances, cheaper packaging, and cheaper methods of creating these substances.
It should come as no surprise this hurts consumers the most – and not just in their wallet. It can have serious health risks caused by bogus substances being put in a person’s body. Or it can have health risks by requiring a user to simply take more and higher doses of the drug due to their lack of optimal effect.
That’s why Jerry Brainum has dedicated this episode to looking at a series of studies that breaks down the reality of what black market steroids and PEDs actually look like – and what the odds are that a user is getting fake substances. Let’s jump into it.
RELATED: Bodybuilders Are Dying: An Investigation Into Modern Bodybuilding, Health, & PED Use
Nearly 1/3 of black market steroids are fake
Jerry Brainum starts the episode with a few anecdotal stories. While Brainum does not use steroids himself, he is deeply rooted into the bodybuilding industry. He has spoke with many individuals who claim to be using certain steroids – and aren’t getting the kind of results that Brainum knows should be possible from earlier eras of the sport. It’s clear even on an anecdotal level that black market steroids are scamming buyers.
To back this up, Jerry Brianum turns to a recent series of studies that analyzed 5,400 anabolic agents on the black market. Overall, the study showed that cumulatively, 36% of the substances were found to be fake. That’s over 1/3 of all black market steroids.
While this number should be alarming to you – it does alter depending on where you live. For example, the study showed that Brazil was best known for selling fake steroids. Fake or diluted substances were found in 49% of the substances analyzed compared to as low as 15% in other countries.
In addition to this, the type of steroid substance mattered as well. Oil based steroid substances were far more likely to be fake or diluted. With 43-65% of analyzed oil substances being fake vs 29-37% of tablet steroids being found fake.
What does it mean for a steroid substance to be fake? They contain substances other than anabolic materials. For example, Jerry Brainum points out one note from the study that claimed certain so-called steroids contained anti-malarial substances instead.
RELATED: The Anabolic Doc Reaction To VICE Video: How Steroids Became More Popular Than Heroin
Other concerns with black market steroids
Jerry Brainum also discusses other findings made by the studies. Particularly that methods of cutting costs lead to sub-optimal steroid substances on the black market. Business would cut back on packaging, storage conditions, and purposefully dilute the substances in order to make more money out of less substance.
All of these factors can lead to a steroid becoming sub-optimal. Even if the steroid is not fake – it will be less powerful than its dose purports to contain. This has many dangers – one being that an individual may believe they can handle a certain dose of the diluted drug. When they then get hands on perhaps a non-diluted version of the substance – they will unknowingly take more – wreaking havoc on the body and possibly leading to long term serious health risks.
Wrap Up
Jerry Brainum is aware that drug and PED use will not disappear from bodybuilding or any other sport. With the current state of laws in the United States regarding steroids – it’s unavoidable that individuals will turn to the black market. But Brainum hopes that this information can help educate those who are thinking about taking the risk.
If a bodybuilder wants to take that risk – that’s their freedom. But individuals unknowingly taking a risk, believing the black market substances are legitimate, is a tragedy. That’s why Brainum hopes people watch and absorb this episode.

Hafthor Bjornsson Attends Posing Seminar: Is The Mountain Considering Bodybuilding?

Hafthor Bjornsson Attends Posing Seminar: Is The Mountain Considering Bodybuilding?

Hafthor Bjornsson has hinted at bodybuilding in the past. Could this be his next venture?
Hafthor Bjornsson has taken on many different challenges over the course of his career. From strongman to acting to boxing, The Mountain has found success in whatever he does. Could bodybuilding be next on the list?
Bjornsson currently holds the all-time deadlift record at 501kg. He is a former World’s Strongest Man champion and one of the best strongmen of all-time. To this day, he is the only man to win the WSM, Europe’s Strongest Man, and Arnold Strongman Classic. His monstrous physique landed him a part in Game of Thrones.
When he decided to take a break from strongman, Hafthor Bjornsson began training as a boxer. He lined up a fight with fellow strongman Eddie Hall, which was initially cancelled due to an injury from Hall. When the two finally stepped in the ring together, Bjornsson was named the winner by unanimous decision. Now, he continues to train in the ring awaiting his next opponent.

During this time, Bjornsson has transformed his physique. After being seen at a recent posing seminar, could he be looking into bodybuilding?

Hafthor Bjornsson Hits Some Bodybuilding Poses
Hafthor Bjornsson was given more time to train and sculpt his physique when Hall went down with an injury. He has completely transformed his diet and training regimen to fit boxing. Bjornsson now sports a shredded physique and because of this, has hinted at competing in bodybuilding in the past.

In January, Hafthor Bjornsson shared a post on Instagram saying that he was reading a book written by eight-time Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman and felt inspired. This led to many thinking that he could make an appearance on the bodybuilding stage.
The Men’s Open division in bodybuilding is full of mass monsters that have grown significantly over time. Bjornsson has transformed his physique into something great and is extremely tall at 6-foot-9. It would be interesting to see how he would fair on stage next to some of the best competitors in the world. Of course, he would have to tailor his physique in a different way once again.
We have seen that Hafthor Bjornsson is always up for a challenge and is not a stranger to sculpting his physique. If he decided to take a chance on bodybuilding, Bjornsson would certainly give it all he has.

“I am very happy and focused to get golds in my categories. Since the end of 2020 when I turned professional I have been my own trainer, and I have planned my training, diet, and supplementation routines. ”
Below is an Instagram photo of Arely Ayala at the INBA PNBA Iron Man Magazine show.

She hopes to win gold in Bikin Angels and Bikini Divas at the 2022 Natural Olympia. Natural Olympia is the most significant natural bodybuilding competition of the year that takes place on November 10-13 in Las Vegas, NV. We’ll see if Arely Ayala’s training pays off at the natural bodybuilding finale.
We’re not entirely sure how her training structure looks now this new year. But last year, she was training with heavier weight and fewer reps when bulking six days a week. And she would train seven days a week and implement more cardio when cutting.

‘Kai’ Exclusive Clip – Kai Greene Tells All On The Grapefruit Video

‘Kai’ Exclusive Clip – Kai Greene Tells All On The Grapefruit Video

[embedded content]

Kai Greene opens up about the infamous grapefruit video in this exclusive clip from the Kai movie.
Watch the new exclusive clip from Kai – available August 26 on digital! You can pre-order it today right here. In this clip, Kai Greene directly confronts his past by addressing the infamous grapefruit video that shocked the bodybuilding industry during his rise to success in the sport. Kai’s past has always been mysterious – but that didn’t stop the internet from unearthing an erotic video that temporarily changed the conversation surrounding his bodybuilding success.
While Kai Greene‘s past is still mysterious today – there is much more we know about the artistic champion bodybuilder than we knew back in his early days of competing. Today, it’s well known by fans that Kai grew up as a ward of the state, went to prison, and turned towards exotic dancing upon release. This was less chronicled during Kai’s rise to fame in bodybuilding.
So it certainly came as a shock to fans, judges, and fellow competitors alike when a certain video surfaced and went viral on the internet. That video in question is the “grapefruit video” as it’s causally known. The video was recorded during Kai Greene’s exotic dancing days. But instead of it simply being a video of Kai dancing alone – it was a “soft core” video of Kai having relations with a grapefruit.
The video’s release coincided with Kai Greene’s rapid rise in competitive bodybuilding. By the time the video went viral – Kai was already seen as threat at the Mr. Olympia. His rivalry with Phil Heath was just getting started. He was on top of the world.
The grapefruit video slightly altered the perception of Kai Greene and nearly derailed his success in the sport. While there was no direct action taken or proven penalty for the video (why would there be?), it pained Kai in a different light by the public. There is often talk about how a Mr. Olympia champion is seen as an ambassador to the sport. Would the IFBB Pro league want a man who simulated having sex with a grapefruit as their ambassador?
Ultimately Kai Greene moved past the drama of the video’s release. He continued to succeed in the sport and battle with Phil Heath year after year. While he did not ever win the Mr. Olympia, there’s little to no evidence that the grapefruit video had an affect on his placing on stage.
But questions always lingered. Why exactly does this video exist? What was the origin of why Kai Greene decided to record it? In the feature film documentary, Kai, we finally get a direct answer. Kai looks directly at the camera and lays out a play-by-play of how he ended up filming the grapefruit video. You can watch a preview of the exclusive clip above.
Kai will be available on all major digital platforms on August 26. You can pre-order today by clicking right here or on the banner below.

Nick Walker Discusses Facing Big Ramy In 2022 Olympia: “It’s Going To Be A Good Battle Between Me And Him”

Nick Walker Discusses Facing Big Ramy In 2022 Olympia: “It’s Going To Be A Good Battle Between Me And Him”

Nick Walker admits that Big Ramy will win if he comes in shredded.
Big Ramy has won the previous two Olympia competitions and will enter the 2022 event as the favorite once again. The Men’s Open division is extremely top heavy, which makes for an entertaining show. If there is a mass monster that can compete with Big Ramy this year, it could be Nick Walker, if all goes right.
Walker turned in an extremely impressive rookie season and has built a championship physique at a young age. He won the 2021 New York Pro and followed that up with a victory at the Arnold Classic. Just two weeks later, Walker finished fifth at his first Olympia competition. He was unhappy with this finish and vowed for a better performance in 2022.
Big Ramy recently shared a physique update as he weighs 337 pounds at this point of his training. He will be the favorite to lift the Sandow Trophy once again and it is always interesting to think about competitors who could jump him on the score card.

Nick Walker Preparing For Battle Against Big Ramy
Nick Walker joined Fouad Abiad on Bro Chat to discuss Big Ramy’s physique update, along with his current progress in the gym. Walker believes that he can make a jump into the top two and even challenge Big Ramy for the title.
“I’m in pretty good shape for being 300. Listen, if this is going to go how I think it’s going to go… it’s going to be a good battle between me and him,” Walker said.
Big Ramy and his team admitted that his training was not up to par heading into the 2021 Olympia — and he was still able to best the competition because of his sheer size. Shortly after winning in October, Big Ramy returned to the gym to begin preparing for the 2022 event. Entering December, Big Ramy will have over a year of training under his belt.
Nick Walker admits that Ramy will “probably” win his third consecutive title if he shows up shredded.

“Okay, well he looks really fu***g good. He didn’t train last year that much and then he showed up at Olympia not as good as the year before. Now, it seems to me that he’s staying very consistent. If he comes in shredded, he’s probably going to win again. If he comes in even slightly off, he can be open to anyone.”
Nick Walker continues to give credit to Big Ramy for his posing and current look of his physique.
“His front double is really good. If those are recent updates, he looks very good.”
Nick Walker has a chance to improve upon his finish from 2021. He is one of the top competitors in the world and will continue to show it come December. Can he take down Big Ramy? There is no doubt that he is one of few who has a chance to accomplish this feat.

MuscleMeds Stemtropin Review

MuscleMeds Stemtropin Review

Everything you need to know about MuscleMeds Stemtropin
Product Overview
As we age, our muscle mass declines, and we experience muscle atrophy. Of course, muscle atrophy is a normal part of aging, but what if there was a way to combat that? Well, stem cell therapy is a popular therapy for helping people prevent age-related muscle loss. In addition, stem cell therapy is also beneficial for building muscle and regeneration, making it perfect for athletes and fitness enthusiasts looking to pack on more gains.
However, stem cell therapy is expensive and comes with its risks. But there’s a quality natural dietary stem cell supplement that provides you the same benefits, MuscleMeds Stemtropin. Stemtropin is the first natural nutritional supplement to increase the production of stem cells and HGH (human growth hormone). This article will dive deeply into how the natural dietary supplement Stemropin can help you build more muscle, prevent muscle loss, and help with muscle regeneration.
Main Takeaways

Stemtropin is a natural dietary stem cell and growth hormone booster that helps with muscle hypertrophy (growth) and prevents age-related muscle atrophy.
It increases your stem cell production by 20% and HGH by 72%.
Stem cells help with muscle regeneration to help athletes recover from injuries such as sprains and muscle tears.

MuscleMeds Stemtropin is the first natural dietary supplement that increases stem cell and GH production. A 72% increase in GH and a 20% increase in stem cells is a pretty drastic increase, so it should provide you with all the benefits GH and stem cells offer, including increased strength and muscle growth, muscle regeneration, and fighting age-related diseases.

What Are Stem Cells?
Stem cells are cells that haven’t differentiated–dividing into multiple cells known as differentiation. Since stem cells are undifferentiated, they can develop into cells that serve different purposes for bodily functions. For example, you can use stem cells to grow and repair tissue, e.g., muscle growth. Most cells are differentiated cells. Differentiated cells are cells that have already been divided for a specific task. For example, a red blood cell’s job is to carry oxygen through your blood. So stem cells allow you to multiply cells for a specific purpose you want, such as muscle regeneration.
Stem cells can help increase your HGH. HGH is produced by your pituitary gland, promotes growth, and helps regulate muscle and bone growth. And some sources claim HGH can slow the aging process.
Stem Cells Help Promote Muscle Growth and Regeneration
Although stem cells can be used for various purposes, including cancer and blood-related diseases, they can also help spur muscle growth and help repair muscle tissue (1). Muscle stem cells are activated in response to muscle injury and create new skeletal muscle cells to regenerate damaged muscle tissue (2).
MuscleMeds Stemtropin Highlights
Stemtrompin uses groundbreaking research on stem cells’ ability for muscle growth and muscle regeneration. Stemtropin has shown a 20% increase in your body’s production of stem cells. Stem cell treatments are costly and risky, but Stemtropin is the first natural dietary supplement to provide the same benefits as stem cell treatments.

Stemtropin has hypromellose, rice flour, magnesium, stearate, and silica. And magnesium has been shown to boost exercise performance and has anti-inflammatory benefits (3). In addition, a study of 2,570 women concluded that magnesium intake increases muscle mass and power (4).
